In these matches, the champion does not need to be pinned or submitted to lose the title, making it one of the easiest ways to crown a new champion without directly defeating the reigning titleholder. With that in mind, this could be the perfect opportunity for Megan Bayne to capture her first singles championship in AEW. Bayne has mostly been working in tag team action with Penelope Ford but I personally believe she’ll flourish as a singles competitor in the long run. This is a great spot to crown her as champion.

Kenny Omega vs. Swerve Strickland – Singles Match
Kenny Omega and Swerve Strickland both hit a setback in their pursuit of the AEW World Championship after falling to Andrade El Idolo in recent weeks. Andrade’s victories earned him a number one contender’s match against “Hangman” Adam Page at AEW Grand Slam, but in a surprising turn, Page defeated Andrade to secure a title match against MJF at AEW Revolution.
