DraftKings PGA TOUR Pick6 Fantasy Golf Picks: Top Plays for the 2026 Farmers Insurance Open

The PGA TOUR’s 2026 season is in full swing, with its third event of 2026 starting this weekend. With the Farmers Insurance Open this week, DraftKings users can play in DraftKings PGA Pick6 contests for all four rounds. If you’re new, Pick6 is a single-user daily fantasy game where you select players to go over or under the totals.

This week, the PGA heads to Torrey Pines in San Diego for the Farmers, where players will compete across two courses: Torrey Pines North and South. Each player will have one round on each course, and then the weekend rounds will be held entirely on Torrey Pines South. The venues are both Par 72s, but Torrey Pines South is much longer and typically plays a stroke or two harder than the South. Torrey Pines South tends to be one of the most difficult venues on the PGA and has hosted the US Open in the past.

I reviewed additional statistics and course dynamics in the Farmers Insurance Open PGA Cheat Sheet and included some notes on the course below for Pick6 research.

“Torrey Pines South is a completely different challenge than what the players will have been exposed to so far this year. It’s consistently ranked as one of the hardest courses on the PGA TOUR and yields one of the lowest birdie-or-better percentages every season. In 2022, despite relatively calm conditions, it played as the seventh-toughest on the PGA TOUR and +.534 above par. In 2023 and 2024, the winner came home at just 13-under par, the lowest winning score in over four years. Last season, Harris English won at just 8-under par. Players may be getting bigger and stronger, but Torrey Pines South is still a challenge for the modern pro.

Torrey North will play much more easily than the South. It plays 400 yards shorter and also uses newly renovated bentgrass greens, which are easier to putt on. The greens at Torrey South are some of the toughest on the PGA TOUR, so don’t be shocked when you see some players struggle on the South but light it up on the greens at the North Course. It should be noted that the 2024 winner, Matthieu Pavon, actually went four strokes better (65) on the South in Round 2 than he did on the North in Round 1 (69), but that’s a split you will rarely see from winners.

The North Course features four reachable par 5s, and you’ll almost certainly need a good under-par round from your players there if they are going to advance to the weekend. On the South course, scoring well on the par 5s is also important as the venue features seven par 4s over 450 yards, which are all very difficult to play.

As a result of the longer par 4s — and lengthy par 5s — we’ll see far more approaches from 175-200 yards and >200 yards, putting a large emphasis on good mid-to-long iron play. Setting yourself up well off the tee then is also paramount, and players with good strokes gained off the tee metrics often thrive at Torrey Pines. In 2022, seven of the top-10 players gained over one stroke OTT for the week, and in 2021, every single player in the top 10 for the event gained strokes OTT. In 2023, four of the top 10 finishers gained over 2.0 strokes OTT.”

As of now, we have Round 1 totals up on the Pick6 site for play, so that’s where we’ll be focusing this week. It’s important to know what course your player is playing in Round 1, as the North Course is far easier and we have great weather for the week, so we could see some low scores there in Round 1.

With that in mind, I’ve focused on a few of my favorite plays for Round 1 below.

Top DraftKings Pick6 Plays for the 2026 Farmers Insurance Open

Wyndham Clark Less Than 69.5 strokes

Clark had a strong opener at the American Express and was in contention going into the final round. Sunday didn’t go his way, but he can take many positives from the opener and the fact that he was able to come out of the gates fast after a longer break. The American won his only major title on the West Coast in nearby Los Angeles, and as a bigger hitter, he traditionally likes these longer, tougher courses.

For Round 1, he’ll be starting on the North Course, which always yields a few scores of 65 or better – especially when the wind is down. I expect Clark to potentially compete again, and that will require a good round on the North Course. For Round 1, that also means I have no issue taking the Less than 69.5 strokes on Thursday.

Sahith Theegala More Than 4.5 birdies or better

I’m not sure if Theegala is back to where he needs to be to start contending regularly, but he did show some solid form at the American Express last week, where he finished T8 and got to -21 for the week after four rounds. The former winner of the Procore Championship has many good vibes out on the West Coast to draw from and generally has performed well in this part of the country, including placing T4 at Torrey Pines back in 2023.

His first round will also start on the North Course, and while I am a little cautious of him potentially finding a few more bogies this week with the tougher course, his short game and putting looked phenomenal last week, which should translate to plenty of birdies on the easier venue. For Round 1 with that good-looking weather, taking him to grab you 5+ birdies or better makes plenty of sense given the combo of recent form and course history we are getting.
