Look, it goes without saying that Luka Doncic ($12,200) is viable on this slate, but we also have to remember that he’s $2,000 more expensive than any other asset. Part of Doncic’s appeal is his game environment, as tonight’s tilt between the Lakers and the Pelicans projects to be uptempo and high-scoring. In fact, it owns the slate’s largest implied total. So, let’s stick in New Orleans for our top DFS pick, but save a little money. Zion Williamson is on the heels of a disappointing performance against the Heat, yet the former No. 1 overall pick had dropped at least 30 points in his three contests prior to Sunday’s let down. Need a larger sample of success? Since December 20, Zion not only leads the Pelicans with a 29.2% usage rate, but he’s averaging 1.28 FPTS per minute logged. Williamson’s salary remains depressed thanks to a slight minutes restriction, yet he’s been on the floor enough to eclipse 40 FPTS in four of his last six games. I think he easily brings back value in this elite matchup.

Cam Spencer struggled in Sunday’s loss to the Lakers, missing nine of his 10 field goal attempts and finishing the contest with just 20.0 FPTS. Still, let’s not overlook the positives. As always, we’re process over results. Spencer started in place of Ja Morant ($7,800; calf), who is currently listed as doubtful for this evening’s contest against the Spurs. Spencer also led Memphis in minutes (34.0), touches (76) and assists (9). At the end of the day, that’s a pretty good resume, just one that was attached to a poor shooting night. Remember, Spencer averaged 14.7 points and 10.7 assists in his three starts prior to laying an egg this past weekend in Los Angeles.
