The holidays are in the rear view mirror and 2026 is here. Of course, people may be looking to give their wallets a break after yet another expensive gift-giving season, thus it is somewhat unsurprising to see a bit of a smaller sneaker drop calendar to kick off the new year. However, that doesn’t mean there aren’t highlights.
Here’s your playbook for the top sneakers dropping this month.
Top Sneaker Drop of January 2026: Air Jordan 4 Flight Club

Release Date: January 17 ($220)
As I’ve written about before, even as Air Jordan retros face a more challenging sales environment entering 2026, the Air Jordan 4 has remained a notable exception. The latest Big Facts trends report from StockX revealed that the Air Jordan 4 saw a 204% increase in search traffic year over year and was the most “favorited” sneaker on StockX, meaning it was the model that was saved and tracked the most by StockX users.
This colorway of the legendary Tinker Hatfield design takes its inspiration from the Michael Jordan Flight Club, a fan club those who idolized His Airness back in the day could mail away to join and received special items, as seen in this article from Sneaker News. The OG Flight Club logo appears on the tongue in place of the traditional Air Jordan 4 “Flight” tag and the white, black and red of the flight club logo serve as the foundation for this release. Interestingly, it looks like Jordan Brand will continue to utilize OG “Nike Air” branding on non-OG models, a move away from the strategy that had been in place since the era of Retro+ colorways in the early 2000s.
