On the heels of being named an All-Star earlier this week and being revealed today as the cover athlete of the WNBA edition of NBA2K26, Angel Reese has another achievement to celebrate — her own signature sneaker.
Reebok has announced that the Angel Reese 1 is coming “soon,” with no release date confirmed. In a post on X, Reese talked about her journey and the Reebok’s and teased that pressure, polish and time will produce diamonds, hence the “Diamond Dust” colorway.
Diamond Dust.
Just a kid from Baltimore, turning dreams into reality and hoping I can inspire young women and men everywhere to do the same.

Reese represents the biggest bet by the brand as it re-enters the performance basketball market after having been in the hoops wilderness for what seems like forever. After grabbing attention by naming Reebok legends Shaquille O’Neal and Allen Iverson as president and vice president, respectively, of its basketball at the brand, the brand signed one of the most visible, popular and well-known athletes in the W to be the face of its hoops division. It further looked to cement itself back in the pop culture conversation with a behind the scenes docuseries on Netflix, Power Moves.
Reese joins Sabrina Ionescu, A’ja Wilson and Breanna Stewart as active players in the WNBA with their own signature sneaker, following in the footsteps of legends like Sheryl Swoopes, Lisa Leslie and Diana Taurasi. Notably, Reese also looks almost certainly likely to beat her longtime rival Caitlin Clark to market with her first signature sneaker, although Nike did release a Caitlin Clark Kobe 5 PE last month with a Kobe 6 Caitlin PE set to release later this year.
The WNBA is riding a high unseen in his nearly 30-year history. Ratings and interest are up, and the sneaker community was clamoring for Wilson’s signature sneaker which dropped two months ago, so this feels like a good time for Reebok to make a big bet on one of the league’s biggest stars. Will it help Reebok re-enter the cultural conversation on and off the court? Only time will tell. Reese feels like the right player to place a big bet on. If Reebok can get the design, colorways and message right this could be the biggest hit the brand’s had since it’s hoops prez and VP were trading buckets on the hardwood. But it can’t play it safe. They need to take a page from Reese herself and not be afraid to be unapologetic about who and what they are. That’s how they can break through.
No matter what, it will be interesting to watch how Reese’s first signature sneaker hits whenever it drops onto store shelves.
