The Blue Jays showed that even Shohei Ohtani is human, getting to the superstar for four runs on six hits over six innings in a 6-2 victory to tie the World Series up at 2-2. Toronto will look to maintain that momentum in tonight’s pitching matchup:

Here’s some MLB picks, props and World Series Game 5 predictions to consider for October 29.
MLB Odds & Storylines
Despite the loss in Game 4, the Dodgers are a -207 favorite on the Moneyline on DraftKings Sportsbook, with the run total set at 8. However, according to the DraftKings Network Betting Splits page, 51% of the handle and 52% of bets are backing Los Angeles, suggesting split feelings about these two teams heading into Game 5. The over on the run total continues to be popular, as 87% of the handle and 79% of bets are on that side.
Trey Yesavage gets the ball for the Blue Jays, and Dodgers bats are a career 4-for-15 (.267) vs. the Toronto starter. Of course that’s not much of a sample size, which makes sense as the rookie will be the first pitcher to make multiple World Series starts within his first 8 career MLB appearances (h/t Sarah Langs). That said, Zach Thompson is eying Shohei Ohtani 2+ Runs (+232) in his Best Prop Bets article. ZT says you have to believe that the Jays will continue to pitch carefully to the Dodgers superstar, so it’s tricky to back his hits or total bases since he may just walk every time up. That said, he believes it opens the door for him to score some runs and ZT loves getting him to score 2+ runs at over 2:1 odds. ZT also highlights Yesavage over 3.5 hits allowed (-117), noting that Yesavage has allowed at least four hits in three of those four starts despite pitching very well. At the same time, the Dodgers had four hits off Yesavage in just four innings in Game 1, so this could be a nice player prop worth considering.
If you feel good about the Jays after their Game 4 victory, ZT highlights Vladimir Guerrero Jr. 1+ Home Run (+415) in his Top Home Run Props article. As noted by Sportsnet’s Nick Ashbourne, of 334 hitters to come to the plate 60+ times in playoff run, Vladdy’s 2025 run ranks second in wRC+ (248) to only Barry Bonds postseason run in 2002. ZT notes that Guerrero is 3-for-13 in his career against Game 5 starter Blake Snell with a double and four walks and has bashed seven homers in 15 postseason games. Even though ZT has some concerns that Guerrero may not get much to hit, the Dodgers bullpen could be the key. Blue Jays bats are 25-for-100 (.250) lifetime vs. Snell, but the Dave Roberts’ relief crew struggled in Game 4. So Vladdy’s time to shine could be once the Blue Jays get into the Los Angeles bullpen.
