Sunday afternoon of Week 7 featured a third straight 10-game slate for the DraftKings main DFS fantasy football contests. With some very close games and others where teams were rallying from big deficits, plenty of fantasy points were put on the board throughout the day. In this week’s NFL $2.75M FANTASY FOOTBALL MILLIONAIRE [$1M TO 1ST], the highest-scoring entry came from alexandercole4, who earned 249.6 fantasy points, finishing just one point ahead of evanowski. The entry beat out the rest of the 161,764 entries to finish atop the leaderboard.

Rice and Olave start the party
Most of the players in the top entry from alexandercole4 were in the late window, but a few receivers got the action going early.
The Chiefs made a concerted effort to get Rashee Rice (23.2 FPTS) involved against the Raiders in his return from suspension. He finished with a pair of touchdowns and seven catches for 42 yards. He played just 39% of snaps in the blowout win, but he still racked up 10 targets and looks ready to reclaim his spot among the top fantasy receivers in the league.
Chris Olave (26.8 FPTS) has been among the league leaders in targets all season, but he finally delivered a huge fantasy day by hauling in five catches for 98 yards and two touchdowns against the Bears. His volume has made him an elite value play the last few weeks, and he definitely stepped up and delivered on that value potential in Week 7.
Panthers on the prowl
The only other contributions from the six early games for alexandercole4 came from the Panthers DST (17 FPTS). Carolina held the Jets offense in check and kept them as the only winless team in the NFL.
The Panthers finished with six sacks, two interceptions and just six points allowed. Even though they didn’t get any defensive touchdowns, they were one of the best plays on the board, led by an elite day from Jaycee Horn.
Running wild in the late game
In the late games, alexandercole4 included a pair of running backs who had monster games: Jonathan Taylor (34.2 FPTS) for the Colts and Javonte Williams (21.8 FPTS) for the Cowboys. Williams ran for 116 rushing yards and a touchdown in Dallas’s big divisional win, but it was Taylor who carried the workload in the backfield as he continued his dominant season.
In his game against the Chargers, Taylor totaled three rushing touchdowns while racking up 94 rushing yards and 38 receiving yards on three catches.
Taylor was the highest-scoring running back on the main slate while Williams finished No. 4. Both backs were in over 20% of entries, but they delivered big enough games that it was worth eating the chalk to build around their big total. Don’t worry, the leverage plays in the top entry are coming up!
Two tuddys for Trey
The Cardinals hosted the Packers in another one of the four games in the later wave of matchups, and they gave Green Bay all it could handle even without Kyler Murray (foot) available.
Jacoby Brissett (20.8 FPTS) had a solid day and connected with Trey McBride (29.4 FPTS) for a pair of scores and 10 catches for 74 yards. McBride was a great pay-up play at tight end, or you could have slid him into a flex spot like alexandercole4 did this week. McBride continues to be a key to the Cardinals’ offense regardless of the QB and is staking his claim as the best fantasy tight end in football.
The electric Chargers
In what my son dubbed the “mustard and mayo bowl,” the Chargers broke out their new “Charger Power” yellow uniforms. While the game didn’t go the way they were hoping (thanks in large part to Jonathan Taylor), they did put up huge fantasy points as a triple-stack of success for alexandercole4.
Justin Herbert (32.9 FPTS) threw for 420 yards and three touchdowns and ran for 31 more yards. He finished as the second-highest scoring QB on the main slate behind only Bo Nix (40 FPTS) in the Broncos’ comeback. Herbert was in only 6% of entries, so he was a very solid leverage play.
This entry partnered Herbert with two of his pass catchers–Keenan Allen (31.9 FPTS) and Oronde Gadsden II (32.4 FPTS). Allen was the second-highest scoring wide receiver on the day, and Gadsden led all tight ends while finding the end zone for his first NFL touchdown.
I highlighted the rookie from Syracuse in my tight end sleeper picks, and he delivered on his high ceiling by hauling in seven of his nine targets for 164 receiving yards. Allen almost matched his young teammate’s production by catching 11 of his 14 targets for 119 yards to go with his touchdown.
Allen now has 71 career touchdowns, while Gadsden has one. Obviously at very different stages of their careers, both pass catchers came up huge for alexandercole4’s entry on Sunday, giving it just the jolt of Charger Power it needed to claim the top spot.
The Bottom Line
Gadsden was owned in only 1.4% of entries, and his elite return of almost 10x his salary is what really pushed this entry from alexandercole4 over the top. The rest of the plays were fairly highly owned, but the trio of Gadsden with Herbert and Allen really set this winning entry apart. The top five entries on the board each had Gadsden, and he ultimately was the key to unlocking the salary cap space needed to pay up for Taylor, Williams and McBride. The three midrange receivers each delivered on their elite upside as well, while the Panthers defense was also an excellent value.
Looking ahead to Week 8, the NFL has a fourth consecutive 10-game main slate lined up for next Sunday. While six teams are on a bye week, the extra games missing don’t reduce the number of games on Sunday afternoon.
