Puka Nacua has had an incredible start to his season, but the star wideout suffered an ankle injury this past Sunday vs. the Ravens and is likely to miss time, per NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.
Nacua is leading the NFL in receptions (54), receiving yards (616) and targets (64). The receiver ranks fifth in the league in target share (31.7%), and Nacua’s likely absence creates a huge void within the Rams’ offense for this Sunday’s matchup vs. the Jaguars in London.
Due to the ankle injury, Nacua was only available for a season-low 50.9% of the snaps in Week 6 and with him injured, Davante Adams only caught four passes for 39 yards vs. the Ravens (7.9 FPTS). That being said, his usage was elite, with Adams leading the Rams with nine targets and a huge 34.6% target share, including four red-zone targets.
With Nacua likely inactive this Sunday, Adams’ target share should remain massive and be one of the largest rates of Week 7, giving the veteran incredible upside against a Jacksonville defense that is yielding the third-most receiving yards (995) and fourth-most catches to receivers this season (78).
Matthew Stafford is notorious for feeding his top pass catcher huge volume and making that player an elite fantasy asset, and Adams should be viewed as one of the top receivers for fantasy football in Week 7, if not the No. 1 option at his position.
Despite Nacua’s injury, the Rams are a three-point favorite over the Jaguars on DraftKings Sportsbook.
