The Dodgers went to the City of Brotherly Love and claimed the first two games of their series against the Phillies, and are now just one win away from returning to the NLCS for the seventh time in the last 10 years. The series continues on Wednesday night with Yoshinobu Yamamoto taking the mound for the Boys in Blue while Aaron Nola gets the start in the must-win game for the Phillies.
Each of the games in the series has been close, with the Dodgers taking Game 1, 5-3, and Game 2, 4-3. Roki Sasaki’s emergence as the go-to closer for the Dodgers, and the Phillies suddenly quiet bats are two of the biggest storylines of the series so far, but that can all change as the series heads to the West Coast.
DraftKings Sportsbook has your betting needs covered for Game 3, which gets going at 9:08 p.m. ET. There are literally hundreds of prop bets available, so let’s zero in on a few of my favorite options for another great matchup in Game 3.
Phillies vs. Dodgers Prop Bets for Game 3
Teoscar Hernandez 2+ Total Bases (+118)
Hernandez has been one of the Dodgers’ hottest hitters in the postseason, and he’ll look to keep rolling through October. The 32-year-old righty hit .247 on the season with 232 total bases in 134 games (1.73 bases per game).
Hernandez had 37 total bases in his last 16 regular season games and 17 total bases in his four games in the postseason. So in his 20 most recent games, his total base average has jumped to 2.7 per game.
In his career against Nola, Hernandez has gone 3-for-14 with a home run.
He also had much more of his power production at home this season with a .241 ISO and .322 wOBA at Dodger Stadium, where he should be able to stay hot against the Phillies and Nola on Wednesday. If you want to ladder this prop, Hernandez is +286 to have 4+ total bases, and +630 to have 5+ total bases.
Enrique Hernandez 3 Hits + Runs + RBI (+241)
I included both Teoscar and Enrique Hernandez in my top MLB DFS picks for the day, and I also included Enrique as a longshot play in my top home run props of the day.
If Hernandez hits a homer, he can get this prop out of the way all at once, but there are multiple paths to this prop going green since he just needs three HRR (hits, runs, and RBI) in any combination.
Hernandez has gone 4-for-11 against Nola in his career, with three of those hits being home runs for a total of 13 HRR.
Hernandez is a proven playoff performer who has hit .280 in the postseason with 149 HRR in his 90 games (1.7 HRR). He has at least 2+ HRR in each of his four playoff games this season with 3+ in three of those contests. Playing 2+ HRR for Hernandez at +115 is safer, but I’m willing to swing for the fences with this prop Wednesday night.
Aaron Nola 2+ Earned Runs allowed (+102)
Nola is a proven playoff option, but he’s had a rough year, going 5-10 record to go with a 6.01 ERA and 4.58 FIP. He gave up two earned runs or more in eight of his last 10 starts, although he did finish with a strong outing against the Twins in his final regular-season start.
He gave up three runs in six innings against the Dodgers earlier this year, including an Enrique Hernandez homer. He has never faced the Dodgers in the playoffs, but he allowed at least 2+ earned runs in three of his last four postseason starts, including four runs allowed against the Mets last year in Game 3 of the NLDS.
The question with this prop is more about how quickly the Phillies will pull him in this “win-or-go-home” scenario, but with such a big hole to climb out of, I think they’ll let him go until he’s given up multiple runs.
Getting this prop at plus-money is a strong option given Nola’s inconsistent form all year long.
