Auburn Tigers vs. Oklahoma Sooners prediction, picks CFB Week 4

I bet the Sooners in a big primetime matchup at home against Michigan on the double result (Half Time/Full Time), and I’m going back to the same angle on this game. For those that aren’t familiar with the market, it means to lead the game at halftime and then go on to win the game. If you made me bet the spread, I’m fine with laying -6.5 with the Sooners, but I expect them to get out to a strong start at home, much like the Michigan game.

Overall, I feel this is a pretty similar matchup to Michigan for Oklahoma, with the major difference being that Auburn isn’t rolling out a freshman quarterback — it’ll be former Sooner, Jackson Arnold, under center. That said, the Sooners have the nation’s top pass defense, and Arnold is not an elite passer. Yes, Arnold may hurt his former team with his legs at times, but if the Tigers wind up playing from behind, it’s tough to see Arnold throwing them back into the game. It’s also worth noting, this Sooners defense as well as the coaching staff know Arnold well. I think that might help them limit Arnold on the ground, and potentially force him into some mistakes through the air. Auburn was able to run all over Baylor in its only real test of the season, but Oklahoma will put up far more resistance in that phase.

Meanwhile, we saw Baylor shred Auburn through the air, and while the Bears have an elite offense, I think the Sooners should be able to find some of that success too. Oklahoma has been mopping teams of lesser competition, while we saw Auburn pull away against South Alabama by a score of just 31-15 last week.

I expect Oklahoma to be prepared for this stage the way it was for the Michigan game, while Auburn is looking at a much tougher road test than its early trip to Waco. Look for OU to get out in front early and keep it that way.

CFB Pick: Oklahoma Halftime/Fulltime (-120)
