What happens when an unstoppable force meets a movable object? We’ll find out Sunday night as the Las Vegas Aces, winners of 13 straight games, face a Chicago Sky team that has lost 17 of its last 20 games.
The Aces are 17-point favorites at home and hold -1800 odds on the Moneyline at DraftKings Sportsbook. The total is set at 160.5 points. Letโs take a look at the best bets and predictions for this Sky-Aces matchup.
Sky at Aces prediction, pick
Aces head coach Becky Hammon’s decision to move Jewell Loyd to the bench may go down as one of the best regular-season adjustments of all time. A high-profile offseason acquisition to replace Kelsey Plum, things were not going well with Loyd in the starting lineup, as the team was below .500 and barely in the playoff picture. Since moving her to the bench, the team has won 15 of their last 16, including their miraculous hot streak. I suppose a big gamble in Vegas pays off.
The Chicago Sky, at least internally, expected to contend for a playoff spot this year. Management made significant moves in the offseason to improve this roster, including a trade that sent away their 2026 first-round pick. And despite the four extra games on the schedule this year, they won’t be able to improve on last year’s win total.
It all came to a head in the past week, when Sky star Angel Reese went on the record with her unhappiness about the state of the roster. Management responded in kind with a bizarre suspension.
As if this game wasn’t going to be tough enough, going a whole half without Reese against the hottest team in the league. This is a hefty spread, but with the direction both teams are headed, I don’t expect the Aces to have much trouble racking up a massive victory.
