Minnesota Lynx vs. Connecticut Sun prediction, pick for Saturday 8/30/25

As the WNBA regular season draws to a close, thereโ€™s a lot at stake. Playoff seeds are changing hands by the day, but two teams have already put the regular season behind them: the Minnesota Lynx and the Connecticut Sun.

Minnesota has all but clinched the top seed in the WNBA playoffs. A win on Saturday would finalize the formality. However, they just took a rough loss to the Seattle Storm, and theyโ€™ll need to focus to lock in for the playoffs. Health is the first step to the postseason, and theyโ€™ve checked that box with Napheesa Collier back in the fold. Now, they just need to fine-tune their game.

The Sunโ€™s season ended earlier than theyโ€™d hoped. After a mass exodus in the offseason, the rebuild came fast and hard. Thanks to the WNBA’s two-year lottery odds system, they wonโ€™t be any higher than fifth in the odds. However, theyโ€™ve figured out some things down the stretch that have given them hope for next season. Itโ€™s not all lost in Connecticut.

The Lynx are 13-point favorites on the road and hold -1050 odds on the Moneyline on DraftKings Sportsbook. The total is set at 163.5 points. Letโ€™s take a look at the best bets and predictions for this Lynxโ€“Sun matchup.

Lynx vs. Sun prediction, pick

Now that Minnesota has its MVP back, theyโ€™re ready to heat up again. Napheesa Collierโ€™s absence was a significant scare for the Lynx, but they weathered the storm with aplomb. And as Phee is known to do, she barely missed a step upon her return.

With Collier back and up to speed, it shifts the equation for Minnesota going into the postseason. But these Sun are turning into a fiercer opponent than you’d expect.

At one point this season, Connecticut was 3-20 and holding the worst record in the league. Since then, theyโ€™ve gone 7-8, including their last five games where theyโ€™ve won four and lost only to the Liberty. Thereโ€™s a renewed competitive spirit within the Sun, and the main difference has been Leila Lacan. Since she became a fixture in the starting lineup, the Sun have gone 5-5, with Lacan averaging 11.5 points, 5.3 assists, and 2.9 steals per game. Sheโ€™s been nothing short of a revelation down the stretch.

With the Sun showing signs of renewed hope and Lacan playing at a high level, I have confidence they can cover the spread. Moreover, the Lynx have shown some cracks since Collierโ€™s return. I believe in Connecticutโ€™s ability to cover this spread.

Best Bet: Connecticut Sun +13 (-105)
