The seven-game main MLB DFS slate gets underway this Saturday afternoon at 4:05 p.m. ET. With 14 teams in the player pool, there are plenty of strong options from all across the salary spectrum. I highlighted my top MLB DFS plays of the day, but there are even MORE options that make sense as MLB DFS value picks. In this post, we’ll look at three MLB DFS value picks who each bring high upside as bargain options to include in your lineup.
The weather looks clear and comfortable across the seven venues without any precipitation to worry about. The wind also looks relatively calm and shouldn’t impact offensive production one way or the other. Especially with all the new-look lineups after the trade deadline, be sure to double-check that your MLB DFS value picks are in the lineup and in the slot in the batting order that you are looking for when you select them.

SP Eury Perez, Miami Marlins vs. New York Yankees, $7,300
I highlighted Tanner Bibee ($7,500) as a good value in my main MLB DFS picks, but if you are looking for an even cheaper play who also brings a high ceiling, Perez makes a lot of sense if you don’t mind the added risk of facing the Yankees. Perez has posted at least 13 fantasy points in five straight starts, including three outings with over 28 fantasy points. The ceiling is definitely there for the young righty, but he is also still a little inconsistent since he’s still working his way back from Tommy John surgery.
Perez has allowed two earned runs or fewer in five straight games with a 1.29 ERA, 2.03 FIP and an impressive 0.64 WHIP. He has 32 strikeouts in 28 innings in those five outings, with at least five strikeouts in every start.
The Yankees are without Aaron Judge (elbow) and have hit just .238 with a 22.4% K% in the last two weeks. Even though they’re still a strong offense, Perez has been good enough to take a shot with against them at this salary under $7,500.
2B/OF Daniel Schneemann, Cleveland Guardians vs. Minnesota Twins, $3,300
Schneemann and the Guardians are taking on Bailey Ober ($6,200) in a great matchup on Saturday afternoon. Ober has gotten crushed in his last five starts, giving up 30 runs on 38 hits in 30 innings. Opponents have 14 homers, a 16.5% barrel rate and a 45.6% hard-hit rate in those games. Lefties like Schneemann have hit 12 of the 21 homers against Ober this year.
On Saturday, Schneemann is hitting second in the lineup between Steven Kwan ($4,400) and Jose Ramirez ($6,400). That premium lineup spot should set him up well given his recent form. He has six hits in his last six games, going 6-for-21 with two doubles, a stolen base, four runs scored and four walks. In those six games, he has averaged 7.8 fantasy points per game.
Schneemann has nine homers on the season, and all nine have come against righties like Ober. Whether he is able to homer in the matchup or not, Schneemann should be in a great spot if the Guardians can continue Ober’s recent struggles.
OF Alan Roden, Minnesota Twins at Cleveland Guardians, $2,300
Roden was a key part of the Blue Jays’ trade with the Twins at the trade deadline, and the 25-year-old lefty should get a chance to prove himself in a wide-open Twins lineup the rest of the way. Despite going 0-for-5 in his Twins debut on Friday, he’s back in the lineup and hitting leadoff on Saturday against Bibee and the Guardians.
While Roden also struggled in his earlier cameo in the majors for the Blue Jays, he tore up Triple-A, hitting .331 with three homers, four stolen bases and a .413 wOBA. He still has adjustments to make in the majors, but the Twins are likely to let him learn on the job as they see how he fits into their future plans. He’ll be in a pretty solid matchup against the righty Bibee, and he brings a high ceiling from this very affordable price point.
