For the 38th consecutive year, WWE will host SummerSlam, its second most significant event of the year. This is the first two-night SummerSlam and the sixth one in an NFL stadium. This event is taking place on August 2 and 3 at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. This SummerSlam Saturday card is stacked with three Championship matches, along with two noteworthy tag team matchups.
Saturday’s card is headlined by CM Punk vs. Gunther for the World Heavyweight Title. Punk has been back for a year and a half now and has had many great feuds and matches, but hasn’t had an opportunity for a title until now. Punk left WWE in 2014 and returned in 2024. His last title match was against The Rock at the Elimination Chamber in 2012.
Since the WWE World Heavyweight Championship was introduced in May 2023, Gunther has won the title twice. He lost it to Jey Uso at WrestleMania 41 but got his revenge against Uso in June. Punk is a decorated former champion, and it seemed like only a matter of time until he once again had gold in WWE. He is a two-time WWE Champion, three-time World Heavyweight Champion, one-time ECW Champion, and a two-time AEW Champion.

Full Card and Predictions
WWE World Heavyweight Championship
(C) Gunther vs. CM Punk
Punk won a gauntlet match on Monday Night Raw, outlasting LA Knight, Jey Uso, and Bron Breakker to earn his first title opportunity in over a decade. Although Gunther has been on a great run, this is a perfect moment for Punk to win the WWE World title again, and for the first time in 13 years.
A Punk title run could help elevate the World Championship, adding more prestige to it. As much as a Seth Rollins cash-in during this match would be great, Punk has been active for the last year and has earned another title run.
Prediction: CM Punk defeats Gunther to win the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.
WWE Women’s Championship Match
(C) Tiffany Stratton vs. Jade Cargill
Stratton has been on an elite run since winning the title at the beginning of 2025. She has successfully defended her title against Bayley, Nia Jax, Charlotte Flair, and Trish Stratus.
Cargill debuted for WWE at the 2024 Royal Rumble and has been dominant since. She won the Queen of the Ring, earning a title opportunity. Stratton vs. Cargill has the potential to be a phenomenal display of athleticism. Both are unique performers, but Stratton has the edge in this matchup due to her experience.
Prediction: Tiffany Stratton retains her title against Jade Cargill.
Women’s Tag Team Championship Match
(C) The Judgment Day vs. Charlotte Flair & Alexa Bliss
Flair and Bliss have created a unique team over the past few weeks, resulting in entertaining television. As time progresses, Flair and Bliss are starting to become friends. The Women’s Tag Team titles have lacked momentum recently, with Liv Morgan being out. Flair and Bliss are two former champions, and their win would do a lot for the women’s tag team division.
Prediction: Charlotte Flair & Alexa Bliss defeat The Judgment Day to win the Women’s Tag Team Championship.
Men’s Tag Team Match
Roman Reigns & Jey Uso vs. Bron Breakker & Bronson Reed (with Paul Heyman)
Since Reigns lost his Undisputed title to Rhodes at WrestleMania 40, he has struggled to reestablish his winning ways. Reigns was focused on his family business last year, but since WrestleMania 41, his rivalry with Seth Rollins and Paul Heyman has continued. Even though Reed and Breakker have continued to improve each time they appear, Reigns and Uso are on a different level.
Reigns and Uso have a significant experience gap and are two of the most popular superstars currently in WWE. This is a mismatch on paper with two former world champions on one side against two up-and-coming wrestlers.
Prediction: Roman Reigns & Jey Uso defeat Bron Breakker & Bronson Reed.
Men’s Tag Team Match
Randy Orton & Jelly Roll vs. Logan Paul & Drew McIntyre
Initially, when this match was announced, it was met with criticism; however, they have done an excellent job of getting fans invested in this matchup. Paul and McIntyre are the perfect heels to face Jelly Roll and Orton. They all made an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, gaining mainstream buzz.
Jelly Roll has taken this match seriously, as he has been training at the WWE Performance Center in preparation for this event. However, Paul and McIntyre are active WWE superstars and are both in need of a victory to push their respective careers forward.
Prediction: Logan Paul & Drew McIntyre defeat Randy Orton & Jelly Roll
Men’s Singles Match
Sami Zayn vs. Karrion Kross
This feud has been ongoing throughout the last few months and has been excellent storytelling. Sayn beat Kross at Night of Champions. Kross evened the score with a victory on Raw, and now the two face off at SummerSlam. Even after picking up the recent win, two straight victories over Zayn could take Kross’ career to the next level. Although Kross is supposed to be a villain, he has become a fan favorite and is well-suited for a match in front of 40,000-plus fans.
Prediction: Karrion Kross defeats Sami Zayn.
