One of the biggest questions for SummerSlam this year is, will Seth Rollins make an early return to crash the biggest party of the summer? Since he suffered a knee injury at Saturday Night’s Main Event a few weeks ago, the severity of the injury hasn’t yet been confirmed. This has led fans to speculate if it is a shoot or kayfabe.
Arguably, the most significant moment of Rollins’ great career is known as “The Heist of the Century”. This is when Rollins cashed in his Money in the Bank contract against Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar in the Main Event of WrestleMania 31.
Will we see Seth Rollins cash-in at SummerSlam?
His oracle, Paul Heyman, has continued to say that Rollins will be out for many months and won’t be back for a significant amount of time. That has led people to speculate even further. Rollins returning at SummerSlam was my first thought when he was hurt.
Although he has teased a cash-in for the Undisputed Championship, it makes more sense for him to interrupt the World Heavyweight title match between Gunther and CM Punk. A great scenario would be for Punk to have Gunther beat and is about to pin him, and then Rollins’ music hits, leading to a successful cash-in. Since the Rollins vs. Punk rivalry doesn’t seem over yet, a final chapter between the two, in a Hell in a Cell match, would be fitting for the title.
