To be frank, Napheesa Collier did a much better job at drafting than Caitlin Clark. Caitlin chose her teammate, Aliyah Boston, with the first overall pick. While it’s a nice gesture, it left her team somewhat at a disadvantage. And it got worse from there.
Napheesa crushed the reserves section as well. She got better scoring and defending guards, better defenders, and won out on roster fit and depth of talent. It’s hard to cap an All-Star game, but the gap in quality between these two teams is notable. It won’t make up for the Commissioner’s Cup Championship loss, but Phee will get a measure of revenge in this one.
