Former WBC Featherweight Champion Gary Russell Jr. is returning after three and a half years away from the ring. Russell lost his title against Mark Magsayo in his last fight in 2022. Russell enters this fight with a 31-2 record with 18 knockouts. He now faces Castaneda, who is 15-2-1 in his career. Castaneda recently lost via TKO vs. Demler Zamora in May. The 23-year-old had previously enjoyed a four-fight unbeaten streak, with three knockouts. Even with his long hiatus, Russell is a big -1600 favorite on DraftKings Sportsbook.

Rising Super Bantamweight star David Picasso is back in action on Saturday against Kyonosuke Kameda, who has a record of 15-4-2. Picasso has 17 knockouts while Kameda has nine in his career.

Picasso is the favorite in this fight, at -1400, with Kameda being +700. In this matchup, Kameda has a two-and-a-half inch height advantage (5’9” vs. 5’7”) and slightly larger reach (70.5” vs. 70”). Picasso is making his first appearance in 2025 after finishing 4-0 in 2024. Kameda is coming off a loss, but won five straight before that.

Mark Magsayo is riding a three-fight win streak, most recently defeating Bryan Mercado by KO in December 2024. Magsayo is 27-2 with 18 knockouts in his career while being the No. 26 Super Featherweight on BoxRec. He is taking on a talented contender, Jorge Mata, who enters the bout with a 21-2-2 record at 24 years old. On DraftKings Sportsbook, the veteran, Magsayo, is a -750 favorite as Mata is +475. Even though Mata is a big underdog, he has won five straight fights in the previous 18 months.
