It’s been a trying WNBA season for a few teams. The Las Vegas Aces and Dallas Wings are amongst the stragglers.
At 10-11, the Aces are currently tied for the eighth and final playoff spot. It’s a far cry from what they’ve come to expect in recent years. An early trade for NaLyssa Smith hasn’t fixed things, as disappointing performances and injuries pile up. Time is running out for a turnaround.
Nobody expected the Dallas Wings to be any good, but this has still been a disappointment. At 6-16, they’re currently in pole position for the top odds in the 2026 WNBA Draft lottery. Good for the team, yes, but not fun for the players or fans. Hey, at least they can watch Paige Bueckers at the All-Star game.

Aces vs. Wings Prediction
As we enter the All-Star break, there are numerous injuries that need to be managed. And the injury report could have a significant impact on this Aces-Wings prediction.
A’ja Wilson has missed time recently with a concussion. She missed one game before returning in their last game against the Valkyries, racking up 34 points and 16 rebounds. It’s expected that she will play, but head injuries can be tricky. Dallas has a considerable list of injuries to monitor; Dijonai Carrington is questionable with a rib injury, and Arike Ogunbowale has a torn thumb ligament. The latter is playing through it, but it’s not going well. The former scoring champ missed all 10 shots from the field in the last game, a blowout loss against the Fever.
This line assumes that all questionable players will be playing. In the case of Ogunbowale, her presence is more of a drag than a boon. If the chucking scorer was out, I’d be more confident in the Wings, but this is Vegas’ game to win.

It hasn’t been a good year for the Aces, but they’re still well ahead of lottery-bound teams like Dallas. They have top-end star talent and should match up well against the Wings. Nobody on this Dallas squad is capable of containing Wilson; few are, to be fair. And they have a lot of bodies to throw at Bueckers in an effort to make her uncomfortable.
It won’t be the prettiest win. But the Aces should get back to .500 in this one and take a step toward a more productive season. Dallas, meanwhile, gets another loss closer to securing the No. 1 lottery odds. Win-win, I suppose?
