The Indiana Fever are on the march towards a playoff spot. On the other end, the Connecticut Sun are heading towards the worst record in the league.
It hasn’t been a perfect season for the Fever. Despite multiple injuries to Caitlin Clark this season, they’re keeping their heads above water. The same cannot be said for the Sun. At 3-18, they’re far and away the worst team in the WNBA. Things aren’t getting better, they’ll be sellers before the trade deadline and have no incentive or means to improve.
The Fever are 15.5-point favorites on the road at -1650 on the Moneyline on DraftKings Sportsbook. The total is set at 165.5 points. Let’s look at the best bets and predictions for this contest.
Sun vs. Fever Prediction
There’s not much reason to break down the “why” of my prediction that the Fever will win. They have three All-Stars; Connecticut has zero. Indiana is top five in points scored and points allowed; Connecticut is last in both. There’s no reason to pick the Sun in any game this season. They’re destined to be underdogs for the rest of the year.
If there’s any reason to have hope in the Sun, it’s the play of Tina Charles. The living legend recorded two straight 20-10 double-doubles before their loss on Tuesday. Perhaps she can turn back the clock again and keep them in the game, but I’m not counting on it.
Sun vs. Fever Pick
Indiana Fever -15.5
No line gives me confidence in the Sun. They’ve made a habit out of 30-50 point losses this year. I see no reason why that should stop on Tuesday.
Indiana hasn’t been perfect recently. It’s struggling somewhat to reincorporate a hobbled Caitlin Clark. But that didn’t stop them from dispatching a Wings squad by nearly 20 points. A similar result is in the cards for Tuesday.
