MLB Best Bets: Top Starting Pitcher Prop Bets for Monday 6/30/25

Major League Baseball has eight games on the board this Monday night to close out June with two weeks left before the All-Star break. Even though there aren’t a lot of flashy names, it’s a very solid group of starting pitchers taking the mound on Monday. Let’s take a look at my top available options from the busy night stuffed with strong starting pitcher prop bets. After looking at the markets and options on the board, my top props on Monday include selections from Chase Burns, Patrick Corbin and George Kirby.

Every day of the season, DraftKings Sportsbook offers multiple ways to get in on the action with player props, Moneylines and picks against the spread from each MLB contest. You can also pick series winners, award winners and team futures, so be sure to check out all the options available on the MLB page of DraftKings Sportsbook.

Chase Burns over 6.5 strikeouts (+115)

The Reds will roll out rookie phenom Chase Burns for his second MLB start on Monday night at Fenway Park against the Red Sox. Burns became the first starting pitcher in the expansion era to start his career by striking out the first five batters he faced in a debut outing, and he tacked on three more Ks to finish with eight strikeouts in five innings against the Yankees.

Burns hadn’t pitched in the minors until this year after the Reds took him with the No. 2 overall pick in the 2024 MLB Draft. He made 13 starts in the minors and racked up 89 strikeouts in 66 innings. He had 14 strikeouts in 12 1/3 innings at Triple-A with the Louisville Bats before his promotion.

Burns showed off why he is arguably the top pitching prospect in baseball with excellent control, good movement, and his hard fastball that touched triple-digits twice in his debut. His changeup has also been very effective during his rapid rise to the majors.

The Red Sox have been prone to strikeouts this season and have the third-highest K% in the majors on the season. Over the last two weeks, they have the second-highest K% in the majors, averaging 9.6 strikeouts per game.

Burns should be able to get over seven strikeouts in his second start as he duels with Garrett Crochet in one of the most exciting starting pitcher matchups on the board.

Patrick Corbin over 2.5 runs allowed (-110)

Corbin gave up five runs to the O’s last Monday in five innings, and he has allowed multiple runs in nine straight starts. In six of his last eight games, he has gone over this run line, and his ERA has climbed to 4.24 on the season.

In his first six starts, he allowed just 1.8 runs per start but since then has allowed 3.1 runs per start. Corbin definitely has been better than he was over the last two years in his renaissance season in Texas, but lately he has been getting hit around enough that I think he’ll go over this run line Monday night.

I highlighted the Orioles in my top MLB DFS stacks, and spotlighted Jackson Holliday in my top home run props for the night. Corbin’s success against lefties does make this a little higher risk, but that’s why the odds are at this level.

In his last three starts, Corbin has served up a 44.9% hard-hit rate and 12.2% barrel rate while giving up 12 runs on 21 hits over 15 innings.

George Kirby under 4.5 strikeouts (+120)

Kirby is still working his way back from a shoulder injury and has been limited to seven starts. He did look outstanding in one of those starts with 14 strikeouts against the Angels, but other than that has not looked like his normal dominant self.

He has 36 strikeouts in his seven starts for an average of 5.1 strikeouts per outing, which is why the over is the favorite on this strikeout line. However, he has gone under this total in each of his last two starts and five of his seven overall. If you don’t count the 14-strikeout game, his average drops all the way to 3.7 strikeouts per game.

Kirby will face the Royals in this outing, who have struggled to score runs this season. That doesn’t necessarily matter for this prop, though. Kansas City has the fewest runs in the majors this season, but they also have the second-lowest K%, averaging only 6.8 strikeouts per game. Over the last two weeks, they have only averaged 6.6 strikeouts per game, so they continue to excel in strikeout suppression.

While Kirby has the ability to have a bounce-back strikeout game and go off, it seems much more likely to me that he ends up with three or four strikeouts, like he has in each of his last two starts and in five of his seven starts overall this year. A performance like that would land him under the strikeout total here, and getting it at plus-money is a great value on Monday night.
