Wednesday night’s eight-game fantasy baseball slate should bring another great night of fantasy baseball action. There are several aces lined up to be on the mound, but there are also a few spots where the matchup seems to skew towards the hitters. Let’s take a look at the 16 matchups available and find a few places that stand out as strong spots for MLB stacks this Wednesday.
In case you’re new to the term, “stacking” is an MLB DFS strategy that utilizes multiple players from the same team in your fatasy lineup so that they can stack up production in a favorable matchup. It actually makes the most sense to use players from the same section of the lineup to build in even more positive correlation. Since most run-scoring plays earn fantasy points for multiple players, teams that score a lot of runs usually place several players near the top of the overall leaderboard. Playing multiple players from high-scoring lineups can lift your lineup to the top of the leaderboard for your contest as well. The key to a successful version of MLB stacks, though, is finding the right matchup to attack.Choose your MLB stacks wisely!

1. Los Angeles Dodgers
Shohei Ohtani ($7,400)
Freddie Freeman ($6,200)
Will Smith ($5,900)
Teoscar Hernandez ($5,800)
Andy Pages ($5,100)
Max Muncy ($5,000)
The Dodgers are an obvious spot to stack at Coors Field, but that doesn’t mean they aren’t a great place to start building your Wednesday night roster. They are an extremely expensive stack since they’re in such a hitter-friendly spot and also get a soft matchup against rookie Chase Dollander ($5,000). The rookie has impressive stuff and high strikeout potential, but he also has an ugly 9.58 ERA and 7.97 FIP in his 20 2/3 innings at Coors Field. He has served up eight homers in that limited time at home, and has been prone to giving up too much loud contact with a 14.7% barrel rate against him.
Smith and Hernandez are both great options, as I highlighted in my top MLB DFS picks for the day, and I also highlighted Hernandez as one of the top MLB home run props on the board. Hernandez has averaged 9.8 fantasy points per game over his last 11 games, and Smith has averaged 11.6 fantasy points per game over his last 12.
Ohtani is always a top option to build around since he brings so much home run potential, regardless of the matchup. Pages and Muncy are both a little bit cheaper but still bring very high ceilings. Muncy has five homers in his 20 games in June and just had 38 fantasy points on Sunday in Washington. Pages homered Saturday and has four homers in his last nine games with double-digit fantasy points in five of those contests.
2. New York Mets

The Mets have lost the first two games of their series with the Braves and have dropped 10 of their last 11. They should be in a good bounceback spot on Wednesday, though, against rookie Didier Fuentes ($5,700). Fuentes is a promising long-term prospect, but he looks like he needs more time in the minors. He was expected to get more time at Triple-A, but the plan changed when Chris Sale (rib) landed on the injured list. Fuentes gave up four runs on six hits in five innings to the Marlins in his MLB debut on Friday. The Mets’ lineup packs much more punch and should be able to bounce back in a big way against the 20-year-old righty.
Soto has found his rhythm at the plate and has 20 hits in his last 17 games, including six homers. He has a 60.9% hard-hit rate during that span and a total of nine barrels. While he has been locked in, Lindor has struggled a little bit, going 6-for-38 (.167) over his last nine games with a double and a pair of home runs. He needs to jumpstart the top of the lineup for Soto and Alonso to provide the power behind him. Nimmo has been hitting second in the order, and before yesterday’s 0-for-4 day, he had hit safely in six straight games with an average of 11.0 fantasy points per contest during that stretch.
3. Philadelphia Phillies

The Phillies took two of their three games from the Mets over the weekend and are now atop the NL East as a result. They are in Houston, where they lost 1-0 in the series opener on Tuesday, as they were shut down by Framber Valdez. On Wednesday, they have a much more favorable matchup against lefty Colton Gordon ($6,500).
Gordon hasn’t been horrible overall, with a 2-1 record in seven starts with a 4.54 ERA and 4.59 FIP. However, he has been knocked around at home, where he has a 5.31 ERA and 5.24 FIP while allowing righties to hit .311 against him with a .399 wOBA at Daikin Park.
While Schwarber is a strong enough option to play regardless of the matchup, the rest of the stack is all right-handed options. Turner is a great play at the top of the lineup, hitting .301 with a .375 wOBA, four homers and three stolen bases in his last 20 games. Castellanos averaged 9.3 fantasy points per game in his last 10 contests with 11 hits including four doubles and two homers. Rookie Otto Kemp has also been solid, hitting .250 since arriving with an average of 6.1 fantasy points per game. He showed more power potential in the minors and typically hit southpaws well during his time in Lehigh Valley.
