How to Play King of the Diamond on DraftKings Sportsbook
King of the Diamond requires bettors to use a token on a pre-game parlay that must include a player to hit a home run. Same Game Parlays (SGP), SGPx and parlays are the eligible bet types. Whichever parlay form a bettor chooses must have 2-5 legs.
Any game that starts before 6 p.m. Eastern Time on the slated day will not be eligible for the King of the Diamond promotion. There is no odds minimum. Unless using a boosted token, the bet minimum is $5.
The King (or kings) of the Diamond is decided based on the highest scoring team of the slated night. For example, suppose the Los Angeles Dodgers are the highest scoring team, and Shohei Ohtani hits a home run. In that case, all bettors who entered Ohtani to hit a home run in their eligible parlay and opted in to the contest will share in a $1 million prize pool.
The player only needs to hit one home run to qualify for a share of the prize pool. For example, if another Dodger hit two home runs and the Dodgers are the high scorers of the night, Ohtani still qualifies as the King of the Diamond. If two or more teams tie for the highest scoring team, all batters on those teams who hit home runs would qualify. For more on tiebreaker scenarios and eligible bets, refer to this article.

Shohei Ohtani blasted a go-ahead home run in the top of the 9th inning in Arizona to bring the Dodgers up to 14 runs! The Dodgers have now surpassed the Padres as the high-scoring team on Friday’s MLB slate.
Update: 10:05 p.m. ET
Do you believe in miracles??? With a 5-run top of the fifth inning, the San Diego Padres are up to 10 runs and take the lead on the scoreboard. The final two runs came off the bat of Martin Maldonado of all people:
San Diego’s catcher has not hit a home run since 2021. There is plenty of time left in this game, and at Coors Field no less, but this may be the unlikeliest outcome of the night. Stay tuned as the home runs keep pouring in.
Update: 9:50 p.m. ET
Well, that Guardians moment in the sun was brief. After tying things with the Mets at six runs apiece, New York pulled back ahead with two outs in the bottom of the eighth.
This means that our four Mets batters (Lindor, Baty, McNeil, Soto) are the Kings of the Diamond. Stay tuned for more updates as multiple teams are closing in on the Mets’ run total.

Our crowded King of the Diamond field grows by two. With two runs in the bottom of the seventh inning, the Cleveland Guardians tied things at six runs with the New York Mets, meaning we have two teams at the top of the leaderboard. They are powered on the backs of two home runs, first by Kyle Manzardo:
Their sixth run came off the bat of All-Star third baseman Jose Ramirez:
That means Jose and Kyle have joined Francisco Lindor, Brett Baty, Jeff McNeil, and Juan Soto in a six-man pool for King of the Diamond.
A reminder on how this happens with our tiebreaker rules:
The highest-scoring team of the night so far is the St. Louis Cardinals, who scored 10 total runs but hit no home runs. That means nobody in their lineup is eligible, and the high-scoring title falls to the next highest-scoring team (or teams). That, for now, would be the Guardians and the Mets. If they were to remain tied at the top of the board, all six players who hit home runs for those two teams would be winners in the contest.
More runs are bound to be scored, and more dingers to be socked. We will update any lead changes.
Update: 8:35 p.m. ET
*DJ Khaled voice* Another one!!! Mets outfielder Juan Soto absolutely torched a baseball to right field to put the Mets ahead 6-1.
That makes it FOUR total Mets batters tied for King of the Diamond. Soto has joined our leaders, including Francisco Lindor, Brett Baty, and Jeff McNeil. Stay tuned for more updates.

The Mets can’t stop homering!! In their first at-bat of the bottom of the second inning, recent call-up Brett Baty did this:
Then, two batters later, Jeff McNeil did this:
Talk about an unlikely homer. The former batting title winner had only one home run going into the contest before yanking one to right field. The Mets are now tied for the highest scoring team on the board, all coming via solo home runs. Lindor, Baty, and McNeil are all Kings of the Diamond as things stand.
Update: 7:25 p.m. ET
After 40 minutes of game time, we have our first home run of the slate!
Mets shortstop Francisco Lindor hit his fourth leadoff home run of the season, and eighth total home run, to put the New York Mets ahead 1-0. With four teams scoring already, but with the Mets hitting the only home run, they take the early lead in our contest. We’ll update as soon as other teams and batters get in the mix.
