Wednesday night features a small, seven-game MLB DFS slate on DraftKings.
Still, that doesn’t change the fact that you’re going to need to fill out your lineups with the best of the best. Here are my top three fantasy picks for his evening’s action on the diamond.

SP Dylan Cease, San Diego Padres at New York Yankees, $8,000
Cease is currently filling an archetype that we often see at this point in the season: The “one bad outing is tanking my stats” starting pitcher. It’s very similar to the situation Chris Sale was in yesterday or even the one that Cristopher Sanchez ($7,500) also finds himself in tonight — Sanchez might be my second-most favorite pitcher on this slate. While Cease’s 5.61 ERA is ugly, much of that can be attributed to allowing nine earned runs against the Athletics back on April 8. Even counting that performance, Cease is still in possession of a 3.35 FIP and he’s managed 10.4 strikeouts per nine in his 33.2 innings of work. The upside here is clear.
Yet, despite all that, Cease enters Wednesday’s matchup in the Bronx with a season-low $8,000 salary. For context, a month ago, the RHP was well over $10,000. Squaring-off with a powerful Yankees lineup isn’t ideal, but Cease is far too cheap and the New York does own the league’s eighth-highest team strikeout rate (22.9%). I’ll bank on his ceiling and take a chance on what should be a pretty good variance play.
OF Riley Greene, Detroit Tigers at Colorado Rockies, $4,800
Greene comes into this tilt in Colorado red-hot, riding a seven-game hitting streak and having collected 13 hits in total in that span of success. As always, you want to be utilizing Greene against exclusively right-handed pitching, as the former fifth-overall pick is currently slashing .293/.330/.554 with a .261 ISO and a 149 wRC+ within the split. It’s up for debate as to whether Greene truly “broke out” in 2024, but if you’re of the mind he didn’t, there’s no question it’s currently happening in 2025.
Chase Dollander ($6,500) is another former Top 10 pick. However, that was in 2023, and the right-hander will only be making his sixth-career MLB start on Wednesday. Dollander has the stuff to be special, yet he’s had his issues pitching in the altitude, surrendering six long balls in only 14.2 innings at Coors Field. That’s how you get stuck with a 6.48 ERA.
OF George Springer, Toronto Blue Jays at Los Angeles Angels, $4,400
There haven’t been many bright spots this season for the floundering Blue Jays, but the re-emergence of George Springer has been fun to see. The 35-year-old sort of seemed cooked after posting a .298 wOBA and a 95 wRC+ across 614 plate appearances in 2024, yet Springer’s looked like his old self so far in 2025, slashing .316/.419/.541 with a 174 wRC+. This isn’t a lucky start, either. Springer ranks in the 93rd percentile in barrel rate (16.9%) and the 89th percentile in both average exit velocity (92.7) and hard hit rate (52.1%). The man found a time machine.
Tonight, Springer and Toronto will face-off with former teammate Yusei Kikuchi ($7,600). The left-hander has pitched to an underwhelming 5.06 FIP with the Angels and his main problem has been suppressing RHBs. In fact, Kikuchi has conceded 1.84 opponent home runs per nine within the split. That’s great news for Springer, who has always hit southpaws well, and has mashed all four of his long balls in 2025 off lefties.
