Monday’s MLB slate wraps up with a late-night hammer from Los Angeles, where the Dodgers host the Marlins in the last game of the night. The Dodgers bounced back from being shut out by Paul Skenes on Friday night and won Saturday and Sunday against the visiting Pirates, although Sunday’s game was marred by the loss of Tyler Glasnow to injury. The Marlins dropped two-of-three in Seattle but have shown signs of improvement so far in 2025. It should be a fun series in Chavez Ravine, so let’s dive in and check out my best bets, picks and predictions for Marlins at Dodgers on 4/28/25.

Dustin May over 5.5 strikeouts (+115)
Dustin May and Edward Cabrera go head-to-head to start the series in a matchup of exciting young arms who have been a little inconsistent in the early part of the season. May and the Dodgers are heavily favored, but getting May’s strikeout prop at plus-money is one of my top Marlins Dodgers best bets of the night.
May was knocked around in his last start against the Cubs, giving up seven runs on 10 hits in five innings, but he still had five strikeouts. He has totaled 19 strikeouts in 22 innings over his first four starts of the season, but he has gone over this prop line in each of his two home starts with 13 strikeouts in 11 innings at Dodger Stadium against the Braves and the Rockies.
The Marlins have the 10th-highest K% in the MLB and have averaged 9.5 strikeouts per game on the road. Their above-average strikeout rate and May’s strong numbers at home should help him clear this strikeout line in a bounceback performance Monday night.
Shohei Ohtani 2+ Total Bases (+115)
My colleague, Steve Buchanan was also in on this prop in his top props from earlier in the day on Monday, and I’m backing Buchs and rolling with Shohei in this matchup.
Ohtani is in a good matchup against Cabrera, who has allowed lefties to hit .278 against him this season with a .373 wOBA. Last year, he also struggled in the split, allowing left-handed hitters to hit .239 but still with a healthy .343 wOBA.
In his last few games, Ohtani seems to be getting back in rhythm, posting multiple hits and four extra-base hits in the last two games against the Pirates. Overall, Ohtani’s numbers are down a little bit from last season, but he still has played well at home.
He only needs one big hit or two singles to go over this line, and in a favorable matchup at home, he should be able to extend his streak to three straight games with multiple total bases.
Agustin Ramirez 2+ Total Bases (+155)
I’m taking the same prop for Ramirez on the other side for the final of my Marlins Dodgers best bets on Monday night. I covered Ramirez in my DFS bargain plays, and the slugging catcher is also a good play as a prop to get multiple total bases.
Ramirez has racked up 22 total bases in his five games this season with multiple total bases in four of those five contests. He clubbed a pair of home runs on Sunday and has four doubles and three homers already since joining the Marlins.
He has been starting at DH when he’s not behind the plate and hitting in the heart of the Marlins’ order. His batted-ball metrics are outstanding with at least 99 mph as his top exit velocity in each of his games and an average exit velocity of 92.9 mph. He’ll just need one extra base hit (or a pair of singles) to deliver on this prop, and he’s crushing the ball right now. Even though the rest of the Marlins could struggle against May, Ramirez should be able to get multiple total bases and pay out at this plus-money line.
