What happened to Tyler Glasnow? Live injury updates for Dodgers vs. Pirates 4/27/25

UPDATE 4/28/25: Glasnow was officially placed on the injured list.

UPDATE: After the game, manager Dave Roberts said that an IL stint for Glasnow is “certainly a possibility.” Glasnow said that his shoulder discomfort “kind of comes and goes.” However, the righty felt something grab in his warmup throws before the second inning and had to leave the game immediately.

On Sunday afternoon in the rubber game of their three-game series with the Pirates, Dodgers starting pitcher Tyler Glasnow was removed from the game after warming up for the second inning. The team announced after that Glasnow was dealing with right shoulder discomfort.

He gave up a pair of home runs in the first inning to Andrew McCutchen and Enmanuel Valdez and left the game with -3.55 fantasy points. He was replaced by Ben Casparius, making Monday virtually a bullpen game for the Dodgers.

Glasnow has an extended injury history of arm issues, so any injury is a serious cause for concern. It isn’t clear if the injury occurred on the warm-up pitch in the tweet above or if the problem was bothering him all game.

The 31-year-old went 1-0 with a 3.71 ERA, 3.80 FIP, 12.2 K/9 and an opponent’s average of .164 through his first four starts. When healthy, he’s exceptional, but now he has a new injury to deal with.

Stay tuned for more details as they become available.
