Golf Best Bets: Top 3-Ball Picks for the RBC Heritage

The PGA TOUR moves on after a thrilling first major of the season as the pros head to Hilton Head Island to take on Harbour Town Golf Club. The traditional post-Masters stop is the fifth Signature Event of the season which means plenty of big names and a big purse even though it’s a limited field even with no cut. For what should be a great week of action, there are numerous options as you fill out your betting card on DraftKings Sportsbook. One of my favorite ways to balance risk and reward in my golf best bets each week is by finding some winners int the “3-ball” tournament matchups each week.

The format of 3-ball picks is simple to understand–three golfers are given and you pick the lowest scorer for the tournament. You can find the seven trios for this week in the tournament groups section of the RBC Heritage page.

Last week, my golf best bets from 3-balls for the Masters went 2-for-3 with Jason Day and Min Woo Lee delivering victories but my Brooks Koepka flier play coming up short. It’s been a great season, though, so hopefully I can keep it rolling this week. I love including 3-balls in my golf best bets because they balance out nicely risk and reward, offering positive odds but not requiring a pick out of a huge group of the entire field.

Looking at this week’s tournament 3-ball options, here are my three golf best bets:

Brian Harman (+175)

None of my three picks are actually outright favorites in their trios this week, but Harman is tied for the lowest odds with J.J. Spaun (+175) just ahead of Akshay Bhatia (+180).

Bhatia is a rising star that I’m a huge fan of, but his game isn’t a natural fit for a shorter technical track like this one. He played the event each of the last two years, missing the cut at the full-field event in 2023 and finishing T18 when he was in great form last year. It wouldn’t shock me to see him win this but he’s the most volatile of the three options in this trio.

Spaun has a style of game that would seem to fit the track better, relying on accuracy and short game, but he hasn’t had success at Harbour Town, missing the cut in each of his last three appearances and not qualifying for last year’s no-cut event.

He was in exceptional form a few weeks ago after barely losing to Rory at THE PLAYERS, but he missed the cut in Houston and finished T50 out of the 53 golfers that made the cut at Augusta.

Instead, I’m going to go with Harman in this trio since he has so much experience on this layout. He has played this event every season since 2012 and made the cut in 11 of those 13 appearances with five top-15 finishes. He has three of those top-15 finishes in the last four years, including a T12 last year in which he shot a sizzling final round 64.

Harman is the only one of this trio with a win on the PGA TOUR this season. he has made the cut in nine of his 11 tournaments with four top-25 finishes. He cruised to a win at the Valero Texas Ope, where his short game around the greens was on full display.

He made the cut and finished T36 at Augusta last week, and since Harbour Town is a track that tends to reward veterans, I like Harman as one of my golf best bets in tournament trios this week.

Jordan Spieth (+160)

Spieth is a great play this week as he goes head-to-head with Robert MacIntyre (+155) and Wyndham Clark (+190).

Bobby Mac is one of my favorite pivot plays for the week, but he’s definitely not a safe option after he missed the cut last week and doesn’t have a ton of experience at Harbour Town.

Clark has been very volatile this season, as you can see with his last three results–a withdrawal at TPC Sawgrass, a T5 at Memorial in Houston and a T46 last week at Augusta. He has had a few spike weeks but has been very up-and-down.

Spieth is also prone to being up and down with some crazy adventures throughout his rounds. However, he has been turning those roller coaster rounds into good finishes for the most part this season. He started slowly last week with a 73-73 but stepped on the gas with a 69-70 over the weekend. He climbed up to a nice T14 for his fourth top-15 finish of 2025 and second in a row after a T12 at the Valero Texas Open.

He also has a great history at this track with a win in 2022 and a playoff loss to Matt Fitzpatrick in 2023. Overall, he has four top-12 finishes in seven career appearances on this track.

He’s not quite a horse for the course, but he definitely knows his way around Harbour Town, so I’ll take him to continue his strong form and win this trio.

Sungjae Im (+190)

I usually like to take a long shot for the third option in my golf best bets from the tournament trios, and this week I’m swinging for the fences with Sungjae. He’s up against Jason Day (+190) and heavy favorite Shane Lowry (+145).

Let’s start with Lowry, who’s getting lots of respect in this trio. He was playing great in Florida and started the Masters strong before fading to a T42 after an ugly 81 in the final round. The main reason I’m not in on the Irishman here, though, is that he has struggled on this track, finishing T67 and T64 the last two years since a third-place finish back in 2022. He also could be looking ahead a bit to next week’s Zurich Classic title defense with Rory McIlroy.

Day is a close one here for me, and he’s delivered me multiple wins in 3-balls this season. He is coming off a solid T8 at the Masters and has three top-15 finishes in the last five tournaments. The main reason I’m not picking him over Im, though, is his course history. He played the event last year and finished T18 but before that had not teed it up at Harbour Town since 2020, when he missed the cut. His career history here is actually pretty solid, but it’s from a long time ago compared to Im, who has flourished at Harbour Town and seems to be finding his form.

It’s been a long road for Sungjae Im, who has scuffled along for much of the season and had just on top-30 finish in his last seven starts coming into the Masters. He really found a groove last week, though, finishing T5 at Augusta after a brilliant closing 69 that was one of the best rounds near the top of the leaderboard.

If there’s a course that should allow him to carry over that momentum, it’s Harbour Town, where he has four top-25 finishes in the last four years. He finished a personal-best T7 two years ago and a solid T12 last season. Picking him in a tournament trio is a nice way to pick him as “back” without putting a whole DFS lineup at risk or needing him to win the tournament to pay out. Picking him to beat Day and Lowry and getting it at +190 is one of my golf best bets from the tournament trios at the RBC Heritage.
