Alex Bowman hasn’t won a NASCAR Cup Series race this year yet, but he’s put himself in a good position for Sunday’s Food City 500. He won the pole during Saturday’s qualifying race.

The 31-year-old posted a 14.912 lap to earn the top spot. This is the second time he’s won a qualifying race this year, but he hasn’t capitalized on it during the official Cup Series competitions.

Ricky Stenhouse Jr. and Kyle Larson finished second and third, respectively, in the qualifying race on Saturday.

The Food City 500 will take place on Sunday, April 13 at 3 p.m. ET at the Bristol Motor Speedway in Bristol, Tennessee.
