The Masters is one of the biggest sporting events of the season, and this year’s event provides another showcase for the best golfers in the world to take a chance to become part of golf history. It’s a great week for fantasy golf too, with so many great options to choose from in the 95-player field. If you’re looking to build your bankroll with some fantasy golf wins this week, check out my top three fantasy golf cash game plays this week– Rory McIlroy ($11,100), Corey Conners ($7,900) and Sepp Straka ($7,600).
Earlier on Wednesday, I broke down my top three pivot plays for tournament lineups at the Masters in a companion piece to this post. The picks in both posts have upside and characteristics that I like for this week’s event. The pivot plays for tournaments are more aggressive, while these three plays are safer options. These picks will also likely have much higher ownerships, but still make solid plays where being different is less of a factor. Think of cash game picks as playing a par 5 as it was designed — looking for a solid birdie; while the tournament plays are more aggressive picks that try to go for the green in two. There is potentially more reward with pivot plays, but also more risk.
So what exactly are “cash games”? That term refers to contests on DraftKings that pay out to about the top half of entries. Typically, they are in the 50/50s & Double Ups or Head-to-Head sections of the DraftKings lobby. In this style of contest, it’s important to minimize risk and raise the floor of your entry rather than focusing too much on the ceiling. Typically, cash lineups will be more balanced in their spending. In cash games, finding low-ownership plays doesn’t matter as much since you’re just trying to finish in the top half of contests rather than finish at the very top of a GPP, like the three awarding $1 million prizes this week.
With those ground rules set up, let’s dive deeper into my top three cash fantasy golf cash game plays for this week at the 2025 Masters.
Rory McIlroy ($11,100)
The Rory vs. Scottie choice is so awesome when both are in such great form. For this week, I think both are great cash game options, but I’m going with Rory in my fantasy golf cash game plays because he’s over $1,000 cheaper and brings just about the same ceiling and floor as Scottie.
McIlroy is famously looking to complete his career grand slam with a win at Augusta. In his storied career, the 35-year-old has four major championships as part of his 28 PGA TOUR victories. He has come agonizingly close at Augusta with 12 top-25 finishes and four top-five finishes in his 16 appearances. He missed the cut in 2021 and 2023 but finished in the top 10 in 2014, 2015, 2015, 2017, 2018, 2020 and 2022, when he finished solo second in Scottie’s first win.
Rory has looked totally locked in over the last six months. He won his third DP World Tour Championship in November then claimed the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am in February. He won again last month at TPC Sawgrass, where he claimed his second career win at THE PLAYERS Championship by defeating J.J. Spaun ($6,800) in a playoff.
He has played seven events on the PGA Tour in 2025 and has two wins and five top-10 finishes. He leads the field in Total Strokes Gained over the last 30 rounds and is second in Strokes Gained: Tee-to-Green. He has all the tools and form to finally break through and get his green jacket, but even if he doesn’t he’s a very low-risk option, which makes him one of my top fantasy golf cash game plays this week.
Corey Conners ($7,900)
With so many good high-priced options, it’s great that there are also some good plays under $8,000 to help build balanced cash-game lineups. Conners was in my cash game picks last week as well, but his salary was all the way up at $10,100 at TPC San Antonio, where he has won twice before in his career. He finished T18 after a tough final round, but he was still a solid option for cash game lineups last week.
As an approach-game specialist, Conners is a good fit for Augusta National, so it isn’t a surprise that the Canadian has made the cut in five of the last six years with three top-10 finishes in 2020, 2021 and 2022.
Conners made the cut in all four majors last year, finshing in the top 26 at the PGA Championship, the U.S. Open and The Open Championship. He comes to this year’s slate of majors with strong form as well. He placed in the top 10 in the Arnold Palmer Invitational, THE PLAYERS Championship, and the Valspar Championship before last week’s T18.
Over his last 16 rounds, he leads the entire field in Total Strokes Gained and ranks second in Strokes Gained: Tee-to-Green. If he putter cooperates, he can contend for the win, but even if not, he’ll be a solid enough option to be a safe play in cash games.
Sepp Straka ($7,600)
Straka is another very solid international player in the $7,000s with both the kind of high ceiling and high floor that makes him perfect as one of my fantasy golf cash plays for this week.
Earlier this season, he claimed his third PGA TOUR victory by holding off Justin Thomas ($9,600) to win The American Express. Since that win, the Austrian has kept right on rolling, making the cut in six of seven events and adding five more finishes in the top 15. He recently finished in the top 15 at both Bay Hill and TPC Sawgrass, which are both courses that are difficult relative to par and emphasize shotmaking like Augusta National.
Even though he is from Austria, he spent part of his teenage years in Georgia and attended college at Georgia University. He has shown that Augusta is in his wheelhouse, making the cut in each of his three previous appearances, with a personal-best T16 finish last season.
He comes in with his game in sharp form overall. Over the last 30 rounds, Straka leads the entire field in Strokes Gained: Total and ranks third in Strokes Gained: Approach. He has been steady and solid enough to be a reliable play with a good ceiling at the 2025 Masters.
