The final NBA game of Sunday night features the Rockets landing in Phoenix in an important Western Conference matchup. The Rockets are in the No. 2 spot in the conference, 14 games behind the Thunder and 1.5 games against of the Nuggets. The Suns are currently in the No. 11 spot, one game behind the Kings in the race for the final spot in the Play-In Tournament. It should be a fun atmosphere at the Footprint Center, so let’s take a look at my top three Rockets vs. Suns player prop bets on DraftKings Sportsbook.
In the bigger picture, the Rockets are two-point road favorites with the total set at O/U 220.5 points. The Rockets will be without Tari Eason (leg), while the Suns ruled out Bradley Beal (hamstring), but other than those two absences, the rotations should be fairly intact.
Best Rockets vs. Suns Player Prop Bets on DraftKings Sportsbook
Amen Thompson over 8.5 rebounds (+110)
Thompson has at least nine rebounds in 13 of his last 14 games. The second-year breakout star is averaging 14.0 points, 8.3 rebounds, 3.6 assists, 1.4 steals and 1.3 blocked shots in 32.5 minutes per game on the season and has been even better over the last few months.
Thompson has been limited this month by an ankle injury that has kept him out of seven games, but when he has played he has still done good work on the glass. He only needed 28 minutes to grab 10 boards against the Jazz in his most recent game on Thursday, and he isn’t on the injury report at all for this matchup.
This will be his second game this season against the Suns, and in the first matchup he had 18 points, 11 assists, 10 rebounds and 58 fantasy points in a massive triple-double.
Especially with Eason’s absence leaving some extra usage for him, there are lots of ways to back Amen on Sunday, but this rebound line at plus-money is one of my top three Rockets vs. Suns player prop bets.
Ryan Dunn over 1.5 3-pointers (+130)
Dunn has made at least two three-pointers in eight straight games, and I had this same prop as one of my favorite props in the Suns’ game on Friday. Despite a 15-point loss to the Wolves and only playing 22 minutes, Dunn hit three three-pointers.
Dunn is still at plus-money on this prop because he’s only averaging 1.05 three-pointers per game on the season. Over his last eight games, though, he has started in place of Bradley Beal and averaged 2.3 three-pointers while playing 26.3 minutes per game. Since there seems to be a very clear reason for his recent trend, I think it will continue on Sunday at home against Houston.
Devin Booker under 24.5 points (-125)
I’m also going back to the well on this prop from Friday since Booker is still off. I’m not sure exactly what is going on with him, and I admit he definitely has the potential to break out with a big game. However, with his recent form, I like taking the under again on Sunday.
Booker has averaged 25.3 points per game on the season and has gone over this number in 51.4% of his games this season. On the other hand, he has only gone over this number twice in his last nine games and has fallen short of 20 points in each of his last four games.
In those four games, Booker is only 22-of-62 (35.5%) from the field and 2-for-21 (9.5%) from long-range. Three of those four games were at home too, so it isn’t just that he’s ready to come home and shake it off. The Rockets defense against point guards has been solid this season, and they held Booker to just 19 points in their first meeting, so I think they’ll extend his slump for one more game, and I’m taking his under as the third of my Rockets vs. Suns props on Sunday.
