William Byron won the Daytona 500 for the second consecutive season. The inaugural race of the 2025 NASCAR Cup Series season was dramatic.
After rain delayed the race, the Daytona 500 came down to a final lap late Sunday night. A crash occurred during the final lap, and Byron came out of it in the lead.
Byron started in the fifth position to kick off Daytona 500, but he finishes No. 1 once again. He becomes the fifth driver in history to win back-to-back Daytona 500s and the first since Denny Hamlin did in 2019-20.
