The Wizards are finishing a back-to-back on Wednesday night as they visit the 76ers in Philadelphia. They already ruled out Jordan Poole (hip) and Malcolm Brogdon (foot) and also listed rookie Bub Carrington ($4,700; back) as questionable. Without Poole and Brogdon the last two games, Jared Butler ($3,000) has stepped up for the Wizards, and he’ll be a great DFS value play on Wednesday, who could be even more involved if Carrington is also out.

PG Jared Butler at Philadelphia 76ers, $3,000
Butler has only averaged 10.5 minutes per game in his 25 games this season and has been out of the rotation for a few stretches. Butler only played a total of 14 minutes in the Wizards’ eight games coming into this week, but on Sunday, he played 20 minutes with both Brogdon and Poole out.
In those 20 minutes, Butler went 6-of-12 from the field with five assists, four rebounds, a steal for 17 points and 31 fantasy points. His performance was in stark contrast to Kyshawn George ($3,400), who went 0-for-7 from the field in that same game despite playing 27 minutes.
Butler made the most of his increased opportunity on Tuesday as well, scoring 14 points to go with five more assists on his way to 25 fantasy points.
Even if Carrington plays, there is probably 20+ minutes available for Butler, and he should be able to return excellent value. However, if Carrington also sits, Butler could be the team’s only real point guard option and be in for an even bigger workload.
Even though there are plenty of value options on Wednesday’s slate, Butler’s recent production at the minimum salary with so much potential availability makes him too good of an option to overlook.
