DraftKings King of the End Zone Value Picks for Saturday, January 11
Mike Williams +800
Williams has only scored once during his time with the Steelers. It was during his debut in Week 10 against the Commanders. Since then, he’s been held out of the end zone. This Wild Card matchup presents a solid opportunity to potentially be a huge value play to score a touchdown. Williams isn’t someone who’ll be targeted in the red zone, and for this promotion, that’s a good thing. We want to long bombs to go for a touchdown, and that’s exactly the role Williams has in this offense. Since joining the Steelers, Williams aDOT (average distance of target) is at 19.5. He’s not going to get these short, intermediate pass attempts. Of the 13 targets he’s seen with the Steelers, 11 of them have gone over 20 yards. His opportunities will be limited, but if he can break one off for a touchdown, he’ll be in the running to take down this contest.
Joshua Palmer +380
DJ Chark was a bit more involved than usual in Week 18, but I’m not fully reading into that just yet. Chark was on the field for a season-high 20 snaps, while Palmer was on for only 23. Despite this, when Palmer is on the field, he’s getting a healthy number of targets. With Justin Herbert under center, everyone is a target for a deep shot and Palmer is no exception. His aDOT sits at 15.1 on the season while averaging 1.49 Y/RR. Again, this is someone who doesn’t see many red zone targets but we need that deep shot to potentially take down this promo. The Texans secondary has been tough but they’ve also allowed the fourth-most touchdowns of 20+ yards through the air with nine.
