DraftKings Fantasy Football Millionaire Winning Lineup Breakdown: Week 18

The final week of the NFL Regular Season had plenty of drama along with some twists and turns that ultimately put the finishing touches on a great season and set up what should be an excellent postseason kicking off next week. Sunday’s main slate had 13 games and gave players on DraftKings a wide variety of opportunities to claim a “Crowning Moment” to wrap up the season. The biggest contest was the NFL $2.25M FANTASY FOOTBALL MILLIONAIRE [$1M TO 1ST], which gave entries a chance to claim a million-dollar top prize. This week, an entry from rsbathla claimed the top spot in that contest, with a big total of 234.04 fantasy points, the top mark in the field of over 132,000 entries. The winning entry finished just ahead of needlunchmoney, who still won $100,000, which should cover quite a few sandwiches.

Flying with the Falcons

This entry from rsbathla took a very different path to this week’s “Crowning Moment” than last week’s entry. Last week, the winner had all their players in the early game, while this week, rsbathla had just three players early and loaded up on the players in the second wave.

The entry included two players from the Falcons, who needed a win to keep their playoff hopes alive. They lost a high-scoring game to the Panthers in overtime, but ultimately, it wouldn’t have mattered since the Bucs won in Tampa. The Falcons still came through for this entry, though, as Bijan Robinson ($8,500; 34.3 FPTS) was a chalky but productive play with 170 rushing yards and two rushing scores on his way to 34.3 fantasy points.

Robinson had the highest running back total of any option on the main slate, which was expected by plenty of entries in this contest. The Falcons’ running back had the second-highest ownership of any player on the slate behind only the Bucs’ Mike Evans ($8,000; 17.9 FPTS).

Robinson wasn’t the only Falcon in the winning build, though, as he was joined by WR Drake London ($6,500; 43.7 FPTS) who finished as the top WR on the main slate. London had 15% ownership and delivered a monster game with ten catches on 18 targets for 187 yards, two touchdowns and this highlight-reel grab.

The only other player in this entry who played in the early wave was Zach Ertz ($4,000; 15.4 FPTS), who was solid in the Commanders win over the Cowboys, hauling in five catches for 44 yards and a touchdown.

Bo knows playoffs

In the late window, rsbathla really went to work and focused on the Broncos, who needed a win over the Chiefs to claim the last AFC playoff spot. The four Bronocos in the winning entry all came through and not only helped their team back to the postseason but also boosted rsbathla to this week’s “Crowning Moment.”

Bo Nix ($6,500; 36.54 FPTS) was the highest-scoring QB of the week and had an ownership of just 7.3%. He connected on four touchdown passes while racking up 321 passing yards against Kansas City and added 47 rushing yards as well.

Nix found last week’s Hail Mary hero Marvin Mims Jr. ($4,600; 22.1 FPTS) for two more touchdowns this week. Mims finished with five catches for 51 yards on his five targets.

This entry from rsbathla also included the Broncos’ top receiver Courtland Sutton ($6,400; 20.8 FPTS), who only had one touchdown but finished with five catches for 98 yards to hit his contract incentives and help the Broncos get back into the playoffs.

The other big contributor from the Broncos to this week’s “Crowning Moment” was the Broncos DST ($3,000; 15 FPTS). Denver’s defense was definitely dominant, shutting out the Chiefs’ backups and allowing just 98 total yards of offense while racking up five sacks. Even without any takeaways or defensive touchdowns, they finished as the top defense on the main slate.

Making The Difference

While there were plenty of good value plays in Week 18, rsbathla didn’t play any wild dark horse options to claim the week’s “Crowning Moment.” One sleeper who came through in an increased role was Michael Carter ($4,700; 15.9 FPTS) of the Cardinals. I wrote about how Carter got his starting role last week, and he came through with 43 rushing yards, 16 receiving yards and a touchdown as the Cardinals rolled past the 49ers.

The entry did have one big differentiator, though, in Jakobi Meyers ($5,700; 30.3 FPTS). Meyers had the lowest ownership of any player in the top lineup at just 5.5%.

The Raiders’ WR1 was the third-highest scoring receiver on the slate behind only London and Quentin Johnston ($4,800; 34.6 FPTS), who actually led the Chargers past Meyers’ Raiders. Meyers turned in a big game to close out the regular season, finishing with nine catches for 123 receiving yards and a touchdown on his ten targets.

Like Sutton, Meyers finished with over 1,000 receiving yards on the season, and he became just the 11th undrafted player in NFL history to hit that milestone, and the first since 2020.

The Bottom Line

This week’s winning entry finished the regular season with a “Crowning Moment” after a big Week 18 performance. The Broncos and Falcons formed the core of the entry while Meyers was a key play at low ownership.

Just because the regular season is over, though, doesn’t mean your DFS fantasy season has to be! This week’s Wild Card Weekend has six solid matchups, and you can build a lineup for the whole six-game slate in contests like the NFL $444K Sat-Mon Special [$100K to 1st] (Sat-Mon) or you can focus on just one day of action with contests like the NFL $1.5M Saturday Special [$500K to 1st] (Sat).
