Heading into Week 18, the Detroit Lions are the most bet team by handle on DraftKings Sportsbook to win the Super Bowl, but do they sit atop the playoff power rankings for Mike Golic Jr. and Mike Golic Sr.?
The hots of GoJo and Golic joined Pregame PowerUp on Monday to share their lists of the top five teams heading into the postseason.
Senior says there are really six teams with a realistic shot at hoisting the Lombardi Trophy — KC, Buffalo and Baltimore in the AFC and Philly, Detroit and Minnesota in the NFC. So he had to leave one off his list, and he chose to leave Baltimore off his list. His top five is:
Senior admits the Lions have been the favorite all year, but their defense is so banged up right now even as their offense is still putting up points. His former team the Eagles have been coming on strong and he thinks statistically they should be No. 1, with their passing game clicking and the run game and defense being the best in the league. But he just can’t have anyone but Kansas City at No. 1. Senior says they just keep proving it over and over and over again.
GoJo agrees that Kansas City has once again shown us what they are. GoJo notes the saying that trust is gained in drops and lost in buckets, but he says with Kansas City that bucket is so full of drops it would have taken a herculean effort to kick it over. All we needed was that little reminder of what they can do when asked come the postseason as their weapons get healthy.
Unlike Senior, GoJo bent the rules a little bit because he couldn’t choose between Baltimore and Minnesota. His top five(ish) list is:
