The 2025 PGA TOUR season begins this week with the Sentry. This event will be played at the Plantation Course (par 73, 7,596 yards, Bermuda greens) of the Kapalua Resort in Lahaina, Hawaii, which has been the host of the Sentry since 1999. Chris Kirk won this event at -29 last season, which was one shot clear of Sahith Theegala. The Sentry is one of the PGA TOUR’s eight Signature Events for the 2025 season and to qualify for this 60-man tournament, you needed to win on the PGA TOUR or finish inside the top-50 in the FedEx Cup standings last season. World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler withdrew from the Sentry over the weekend with a hand injury that is expected to sideline him for around a month. As always for this limited field tournament, there will be no cut this week.
The Plantation Course is a beautiful coastal venue that is long and features massive putting surfaces. The fairways are also very wide at an average width of 58 yards and as for hazards, there are 93 bunkers on the grounds and water doesn’t come into play on any hole. While the Plantation Course is the third-longest course used on the PGA TOUR, the wide fairways and thin rough at this track allow any length of player to contend.
As per usual, being in compelling form with your irons is a must and with the greens at the Plantation Course the largest of any PGA TOUR venue, a hot flat stick is required to win at this scoreable course. Of the past four Sentry champions, three led their fields in SGP.
The Plantation Course is the only par 73 on the annual PGA TOUR schedule and this unique track features 11 par fours, four par fives and three par threes. With one more par four than usual, being efficient on the par fours is most important, as for three years running, the victor at the Plantation Course has either led their field or finished runner-up in scoring on the par fours of this par 73.

Brian Harman ($7,400) – Harman has thrived at the Plantation Course. The veteran finished T-5th at the par 73 last season and has never finished worse than T-17th at the track in four starts. Harman owns a 10.3 career average finish at the Plantation Course, which is the fifth-best among the players in this week’s field that have competed at the venue more than once. Coming into this week, Harman has made 14 straight cuts and he has racked up nine top-30 finishes during this span.
The veteran ranks top-30 in both SG APP and SGP when we compare this field’s last 50 rounds, and Harman is a tremendous value at this $7,400 salary, which is a massive decrease from his $9,300 salary for last year’s Sentry. On the DraftKings Sportsbook, Harman carries +5000 odds to win the Sentry, which are the best among all the golfers priced under $7,500 for DFS.
Alex Noren ($7,400) – While Noren has never teed it up at the Plantation Course before, the Swedish professional is far too cheap for his current form. Noren travels to Hawaii this week riding a seven made cut streak, with four of these finishes being top-13 results. The veteran has shot under par in eight consecutive rounds and he finished 12th in total strokes gained on the PGA TOUR last season.
Noren is a well-balanced player who doesn’t have a flaw in his game right now and he should have a strong Sentry debut this week, with a top-20 being a realistic possibility.
Will Zalatoris ($6,900) – Zalatoris shined in his lone start at the Plantation Course two years ago with a T-11 finish and the 28-year-old is a steal at this sub $7K price tag. Zalatoris has made four cuts in a row and three of these finishes came inside the top-18. During this cut streak, the Wake Forest product has gained strokes on approach at every event and he has shot even par or better in 13 of his 16 rounds.
Zalatoris has shown a prowess for long courses during his career, he ranks 11th in total strokes gained when we compare this field’s last 50 rounds at courses over 7,400 yards, and he brings excellent upside relative to his low salary.
