DraftKings Fantasy Football Millionaire Winning Lineup Breakdown: Week 16

Week 16 was loaded with plenty of playoff-impacting excitement, and the fantasy points were flowing on the 11-game main slate on DraftKings. Jonathan Taylor ($6,900; 42.8 FPTS) was the highest-scoring player on the slate, and he was a key part of uofm1506 claiming this week’s “Crowning Moment” in the NFL $2.5M DraftKings Fantasy Football Millionaire. This entry from uofm1506 earned an impressive 238.48 fantasy points, which was eight points clear of the rest of the field, which included over 132,000 entries.

Here’s the highest-scoring entry from the Week 16 Milly Maker:

Hitting chalk

This week, four players were owned in over 20% of lineups and seven players were owned in more than 18% of lineups. This entry included four of those players, who turned in strong performances as expected by many.

James Conner ($7,100; 29.6 FPTS) was the most chalky play in the winning entry, and he had the second-highest ownership percentage of any running back at 28.9%. Finishing just behind Jahmyr Gibbs ($ FPTS), who had the highest ownership percentage of the contest but was not in the winning lineup.

Conner continued his strong finish to the season with 117 rushing yards, 49 receiving yards and a touchdown. He stiff-armed his way to the sixth-best running back score of the day.

Keenan Allen ($5,300; 32.1 FPTS) and Jaxon Smith-Njigba ($6,000; 24 FPTS) also had big games with ownerships over 18%. In the early wave of games, Allen had another strong performance against the Lions. After scoring two touchdowns against them on Thanksgiving, he was back for seconds with 141 receiving yards and another touchdown on Sunday afternoon. He was the second-highest scoring receiver on Sunday slate behind only the very expensive Justin Jefferson ($8,200; 39.4 FPTS). Allen brought outstanding value despite the Bears taking another loss.

In the later window, JSN tried to help his Seahawks rally back against the Vikings. Even though Seattle came up short, Smith-Njigba finished with 95 yards and a touchdown on eight catches.

The other highly owned player that was part of uofm1506’s “Crowning Moment” was rookie Michael Penix Jr. ($4,500; 7.38 FPTS), who was extremely cheap for a starting QB. Penix only had 202 passing yards, three rushing yards and an interception, but the salary he saved allowed uofm1506 to stuff plenty of stars in other spots in the lineup.

Jonathan Taylor’s redemption game

After last week’s premature celebration with a brutal fumble at the goal line against the Broncos, Jonathan Taylor ($6,900; 42.8 FPTS) bounced back with his best game of the year. He racked up 218 rushing yards and three touchdowns in the Colts’ win over the Titans.

His 42.8 fantasy points were the highest mark of any player on the main slate, and since he was owned in just 6.0% of entries, he brought good leverage as well.

At the other running back spot, uofm1506 got a huge game from Chuba Hubbard ($6,800; 35.5 FPTS), who scored the walk-off winner over Conner’s Cardinals and carried Carolina to the victory with 152 rushing yards and two touchdowns.

Making the difference

The two big differentiators in this week’s “Crowining Moment” were owned in under 5% of entries. The Falcons DST ($3,700; 25 FPTS) supported Penix in his debut with three sacks, three takeaways and a pair of defensive touchdowns against the struggling Giants.

Matthew Judon’s former teammate Kayshon Boutte ($3,500; 20.5 FPTS) had even lower ownership at just 1.4%, but he delivered excellent value with 95 yards and a touchdown on his five catches in the Patriots’ loss to the Bills.

The Bottom Line

This week’s winning entry from uofm1506 did a great job of combining the right high-ownership plays with the right values. Penix and Boutte were big-time salary savers, which allowed the elite running backs to put up monster games and help the entry claim Week 16’s “Crowning Moment.”

Looking ahead to Week 17, Sunday’s main slate will once again offer a $1,000,000 top prize in the NFL $2.25M Fantasy Football Millionaire [$1M to 1st]. There are eight games on the main slate this week with six in the early window, and the Dolphins-Browns and Eagles-Cowboys games wrapping things up in the late wave. With the holidays this week, the NFL has a Wednesday doubleheader, a Thursday night game and a triple-header on Saturday, leaving 16 teams in action for Sunday’s contests.
