DraftKings Fantasy Football Millionaire Winning Lineup Breakdown: Week 14

Josh Allen ($8,000; 54.88 FPTS) had a record-setting weekend against the Rams, and while he didn’t quite lead his Bills to the win, he was a key part of this week’s “Crowning Moment” in the NFL $2.5M DraftKings Fantasy Football Millionaire. This entry from Snakediem17 ended up on top of the contest with an incredibly high total of 281.68 fantasy points, one of the highest totals we’ve had on DraftKings all season. That entry finished four points ahead of the rest of the field of over 147,000 entries.

Here’s the high-scoring top entry from Week 14:

Early Strikes

Most of this entry was focused on the three games in the late wave, but there were a few early performers to jumpstart Snakediem17 on the way to a “Crowning Moment.”

The entry spread picks around across multiple teams with only two stacks. One of those was in the early window, where they combined the Steelers DST ($3,500; 10 FPTS) and Pat Freiermuth ($3,800; 13.8 FPTS) against the Browns. Both those were solid plays although neither absolutely went off.

Freiermuth found the end zone for the second straight week and has five touchdowns on the season. This week, he was the No. 5 TE on the main slate, and this is his second straight week in the Milly Maker winning lineup.

The Steelers DST was an expensive play, but they finished as the No. 2 DST on the board behind only the 49ers, who had 13 fantasy points in their win over the Bears.

This entry also included two wide receivers in the early games, and both had strong performances on opposite sides of the Vikings-Falcons game. Jordan Addison ($5,300; 42.3 FPTS) was the No. 2 wide receiver on the main slate with eight catches for 133 yards and three touchdowns. He was owned in over 10% of entries, and he boosted his lineups to the top of the standings with his career day.

On the other side of that game, Darnell Mooney ($5,500; 23.2 FPTS) had six catches for 142 yards and over 20 fantasy points although he wasn’t able to get into the end zone to cap off his day like Addison did.

Fiery chalk in the backfield

There were two players in this week’s Milly Maker owned in over 40% of entries and both were extremely productive in the late game. Even though they were chalky, they were a key part of Snakediem17’s “Crowning Moment” since both went off.

The top running back of the week on the main slate was Zach Charbonnet ($4,800; 41.3 FPTS), who was also the most popular play at 43.3% ownership. Charbonnet was a must-play after Kenneth Walker was ruled out, as I highlighted last week.

Charbonnet tore up the Cardinals for 134 rushing yards and two rushing scores while also hauling in all seven of his targets for 59 receiving yards. If Walker returns this week against the Packers, it will be fascinating to see how the team rotates the two backs.

The other chalky but productive running back on Sunday was 49ers’ fill-in Isaac Guerendo ($5,400; 26.8 FPTS) who was the No. 2 RB on the main slate before leaving with a foot injury that could force him to join the growing list of injured 49ers running backs and make Patrick Taylor Jr. ($4,000; 8.5 FPTS) a hot name on the Week 15 Waiver Wire.

Before leaving, Guerendo totaled 78 yards and two rushing touchdowns on 15 carries and added two catches on two targets for 50 receiving yards.

The difference-maker

With that savings in the backfield, there was salary available to spend in other spots, but only 6.2% of people opted to pay up for Josh Allen ($8,000; 54.88 FPTS). Allen had the lowest ownership of all the players in Snakediem17’s “Crowning Moment,” but he delivered the top fantasy score of the week by over 10 fantasy points.

Allen finished with truly historic numbers. He threw for 342 yards and three touchdowns while running for 82 yards and three more scores. He became the first player in NFL history to have three passing touchdowns and three rushing touchdowns in the same game.

One of his touchdowns went to Khalil Shakir ($5,900; 24.6 FPTS), who Snakediem17 stacked with Allen. Shakir finished with five catches for 106 yards, giving this entry another receiver with over 20 fantasy points.

The final piece of the winning entry was on the other side of that thrilling 44-42 game in Los Angeles. Puka Nacua ($7,700; 44.8 FPTS) was the top wide receiver on the main slate, totaling more points than any player this week aside from Allen.

Nacua had 12 catches on 14 targets for a touchdown and 162 receiving yards. He added five rush attempts for 16 yards and a second score as well. He had multiple highlight-reel catches and continues to be one of the top fantasy options every week.

The Bottom Line

The chalky value running backs came up huge for Snakediem17, but it was Allen and Nacua at low ownership who made the difference in Week 14’s “Crowning Moment.” In the last few weeks the winning entry used a running back in the FLEX spot, but this week it was an extra receiver who delivered the win by hitting for over 20 fantasy points.

In Week 15, all bye weeks are behind us and there are 12 games on the main slate, compared to 10 games in each of the last three weeks. Once again, there will be a $1,000,000 top prize on the line in the NFL $2.5M Fantasy Football Millionaire [$1M to 1st]. Just like in each of the last three weeks, seven games kick off at 1:00 p.m. ET but this week there are five games in the 4:00 window. There are some very exciting matchups in that timeslot including the Lions hosting the Bills, the Chargers taking on the Bucs and the two Pennsylvania teams clashing in Philly.
