DraftKings Fantasy Football Millionaire Winning Lineup Breakdown: Week 12

Overall, fantasy football scoring was slightly down in Week 12, but the winning entry in the NFL $2.5M DraftKings Fantasy Football Millionaire included still put together a very strong total with 233.08. This week it was an entry from kittyplume that claimed the “Crowning Moment” and the $1,000,000 top prize. Only one entry finished within 10 points of the winner as ariayna finished nine points back with a totally different build. It was a big week for kittyplume, though, who hit for fire on eight of the nine picks in their lineup.

Here’s what the top entry looked like from Week 12:

A dominant Dolphins stack

The core of the “Crowning Moment” this week was a three-layer Dolphins stack. Miami hosted the Patriots and opened up a big lead early before cruising to a 34-15 divisional win.

Tua Tagovailoa ($5,800; 31.48 FPTS) continued his resurgence and was the second-highest scoring QB behind only Jayden Daniels ($7,000; 32.4 FPTS), who was much more expensive. Both QBs had similar ownership at around 7% and were the only two QBs to put up more than 30 fantasy points.

Tua finished with 317 passing yards and four touchdowns including this one to Jaylen Waddle ($5,300; 31.4 FPTS), who was another part of the stack in the winning entry. He finished with eight catches for 144 yards and this score on nine targets.

The third and final member of this entry’s pod of Dolphins was running back De’Von Achane ($7,500; 20.6 FPTS). Achane had the third-highest ownership percentage of all players in the contest, behind only Kareem Hunt ($5,700; 11.7 FPTS) and Brian Robinson Jr. ($5,600; FPTS) who were both disappointments.

Achane was a little chalky at over 20% ownership but delivered with two receiving touchdowns on three catches for 24 receiving yards to go with his 32 rushing yards.

Backfield Beasts

Along with Achane, kittyplume included two other big-time running backs in their entry, continuing a string of “Crowning Moment” entries that use their flex spot on an extra star running back. Thsi week, kittyplume opted to spend up in the flex spot on Lions running back Jahmyr Gibbs ($7,300; 24.9 FPTS), who had two running scores and 90 rushing yards against the Colts, while taking on a little more work after the injury to David Montgomery ($6,700; 16.3 FPTS), who also had a rushing score before leaving with his injury.

The other strategy in the backfield that was the key to kittyplume’s “Crowning Moment” was using Bucky Irving ($5,300; 27.1 FPTS) as a great leverage play at 8.9% ownership.

Irving was the number-two RB on the main slate, finishing with 87 rushing yards and a touchdown on 12 carries while hauling in all six of his targets for 64 receiving yards. His best highlight, though, came on this play deep in Bucs’ territory:

Addison adds some extra leverage

At wide receiver, kittyplume ended up with three of the top five WRs on the board without spending over $5,500 on any of them. The only receiver to out-do Waddle’s strong showing was Jordan Addison ($5,100; 33.2 FPTS) of the Vikings.

While the Bears did a good job of holding Justin Jefferson ($8,100; 4.7 FPTS) in check, they let Addison run wild with 162 yards and a touchdown on eight catches. They also allowed a touchdown to Jalen Nailor ($3,600; 7.5 FPTS) and a monster game to T.J. Hockenson ($4,200; 21.4 FPTS), but it was Addison that helped kittyplume claim this week’s “Crowning Moment” as the top receiver with a minuscule ownership of just 1.5%.

The other receiver in the winning build was the Raiders’ Jakobi Meyers ($5,100; 25.1 FPTS), who had a big game despite losing QB Gardner Minshew II to injury.

Meyers ended up with 10 catches for 121 yards on a massive 15 targets. He should remain the top receiver on the squad even though he’ll have a new QB to work with starting next week.

The Cardinals clinch the “Crowning Moment”

While Meyers was posting his big game in the late window, kittyplume’s entry also included two Cardinals, who were trying to ground the Seahawks in Seattle. Even though Arizona came up short, the Cardinals DST ($2,600; 11 FPTS) was a solid value play with five sacks and a fourth-quarter interception while giving up 10 points.

The other member of the Cardinals that was in the winning entry was tight end Trey McBride ($5,600; 28.3 FPTS), who had almost five points more than any other tight end as he returned from his bye week with 12 catches for 133 yards on a team-high 15 targets.

The Bottom Line

With McBride, Meyers and the Cardinals DST bringing it home late, kittyplume claimed the “Crowning Moment” and the top prize in the Milly Maker in Week 12. The entry started with a strong core of Dolphins and found nice producers in the $5,000s at TE and WR while grabbing the right running back group as well.

In Week 13, six teams play on Thanksgiving and two more face off on Black Friday, leaving 10 games on the main slate for DFS contests next Sunday. In addition to great contests on Thanksgiving Day, there is another $1,000,000 top prize in the NFL $2.5M Fantasy Football Millionaire [$1M to 1st] for Week 13. Just like in Week 12, seven games kick off at 1:00 p.m. ET followed by three games in the 4:00 window. This week, the showcase matchup is a great matchup between the Eagles and the Ravens..
