The Celtics had a historic night from downtown on their ring ceremony night in Boston, trying an NBA record with 29 made 3-pointers in a blowout victory over the Knicks. The performance has bettors at DraftKings Sportsbook betting on players like Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown to go over their props from downtown again, as both of them are top-five most-bet NBA props tonight on DK.
Bettors also seem to be into the birthday narrative for Brown, betting his point prop up from 23.5 to 24.5 on his 28th birthday. However, with a huge spread in this game, I’m not counting on Tatum and Brown seeing many minutes late in this game. I’m going back to a team prop that’s been good to me over the years, as well as turning back to a role player to have a bounce-back game from deep.
Payton Pritchard OVER 1.5 Made 3-Pointers (-120) — 1-unit
I played Pritchard to go over 1.5 deep balls on Tuesday, and got a pretty brutal result. While the team dropped 29 triples, Pritchard hit just one, despite ample opportunities. He played 24 minutes off the bench, and even attempted nine 3-pointers. However, after shooting a scorching 21-for-43 from downtown in the preseason, Pritchard had an off-night, going 1-of-9.
I’ll try to forget what an unfortunate result that was, and go right back to Pritchard in maybe even a better spot. Pritchard should see similar run in this game, and should get plenty of looks once again, going up against a really poor Washington defense. Sam Hauser (back) is questionable for this game, and while I like the prop on Pritchard regardless, Hauser’s potential absence/limitations could open up even more looks on the perimeter. Let’s go right back to this one and hope for another nine attempts.
Celtics 1H Team Total OVER 63.5 (-115) — 1-unit
This prop has been on a terrific run for the Celtics, particularly against lesser opponents. The Wizards fit the bill there, and the Celtics have been known to get off to hot starts in games like this before taking their foot off the gas late. I’m not expecting another historic performance here, but the C’s just hung 74 on the Knicks in the first half. Will they be as amped as they were after collecting their championship rings at home? Of course not. But this team can get anything it wants offensively, and the Wizards put up just about as little resistance as anybody in the NBA.
