Fridays are for Five lists of Five, baby. Let’s get you set for Week 7 with buy-low players and trade targets.
Because, honestly—all I want is for you to be better than your friends. You’re going to be surrounded by them on Sunday, probably. How sweet would it be if you could be sure you’ve checked every box possible that might guarantee you a resounding victory this week? Some kick-your-feet-up insights? I’ve got some.
I know my audience. The smoke-break audience. The quick-scan-of-the-phone-on-the-way-to-the-fridge audience. The give-me-as-much-info-as-possible-as-fast-as-possible audience. I’m a man of the people.
And so: the Five Lists of Five series. Think of these as byte-sized, two-minutes-to-yourself lists to scan during your weekend as you foam at the mouth for any competitive fantasy edge. As much relevant analysis as I can fit into, like, 250 words per player.
Keeping it rolling this week with my five best buy-low targets for NFL Week 7.

Buy ‘Em
Jameson Williams, WR, Detroit Lions
The buy-low window is closing on this G6 jetplane. Anyone else catch Trevon Diggs mouthing “I can’t even keep up,” on Sunday night, re. Jamo’s speed?
He’s currently the WR24 in PPR leagues. You could try to wait one more week, hope he has a eight-to-ten point FPT game, and see if you could get him lower than now.
But I legitimately think Sam LaPorta’s volume has been utterly halved by Jameson WIlliams’s emergence. See if you can trade a back like Bucky Irving for him.
Braelon Allen, RB, New York Jets
Can’t really go much lower than this, but I like Allen’s chances to be a receiving threat out of the backfield now that the Jets have a bit more weaponry in the passing game.
Breece Hall is the alpha dog in this offense, and it’s wildly clear. That man moves a little like LaDainian Tomlinson sometimes. But, if my team has a winning record, I see Allen’s playoff schedule (Week 15 vs. Jags; Week 16 vs. Rams), and I think: those might be must-win games for both teams, and the opposing defenses are bad.
Allen will eat in this offense, and will be a legitimate bye-week fill-in at flex season-long. He might post some unexpected 15+ FPT weeks come fantasy playoffs, too.
Jaylen Warren, RB, Pittsburgh Steelers
I don’t really think you need to buy-low on him, necessarily, because his value hasn’t exactly been lower. But Warren was on the field for the second-most snaps of his 2024 season (24) against the Raiders in Week 6.
Now, Najee Harris has looked good. But how much of that do we think is because Fields has been, to defenses, more a threat with his legs than a threat to make explosive plays through the air?
The whole Steelers quarterback situation seems to be a Mike Tomlin distinction between “quite good” and “great,” according to his press conference. He, apparently, thinks Russell Wilson gives them a better chance to be great in all three phases of the game, which is why he’s starting Wilson in Week 7, and potentially beyond.
Look for Jaylen Warren (and potentially Pat Freiermuth) to be the biggest beneficiaries of Wilson under center. Downgrade Najee, and keep expectations the same for Pickens. But Warren is the guy you want in this offense season-long.
Ladd McConkey, WR, Los Angeles Chargers
I know. We’re tired of seeing him on these lists. But he’s so deliciously-fringe, almost like Hunter Renfrow was in 2020-2021. McConkey has worked hard to gain the trust of Justin Herbert in high-leverage situations. The Chargers are so down at wideout that they’re using Simi Fehoko in a primary role.
McConkey hasn’t practiced more than in a limited fashion this week with a hip injury (he sustained a few smashing hits against the Broncos in Week 6), but there’s no sign he won’t be ready for Monday Night Football against the Cardinals.
I’ll be including McConkey in my five wide receivers due for breakout games in Week 7 article, as well. Against a porous pass defense in what should be a primetime shootout, this might be your last shot to buy WR3-low on McConkey. It just feels like he’s going to be a top-24 wideout the rest of the way.
DeVonta Smith, WR, Philadelphia Eagles
A.J. Brown is an unbelievable force to watch. But I still think DeVonta Smith—provided his entire season hasn’t been derailed by the vicious concussion he suffered a few weeks back—has a chance to be the most prolific Eagles wideout in this offense.
He’s currently the WR29 in PPR leagues, but he’s already had his bye. Managers are going to be a little bit frugal with letting him go. If they are, tell them that Jalen Hurts throws over the middle of the field less than anyone, and DeVonta Smith runs a lot of in-breaking routes, similar to Brandon Aiyuk.
Don’t let that discourage you, though. I think there’s a trade to be had out there for, say, a Tyrone Tracey Jr. for DeVonta Smith straight up. Something in that range. If you can secure Smith as your FLEX for season-long? You’re flying high.
