Fridays are for Five lists of Five, baby. Let’s get you set for Week 6.
Because, honestly—all I want is for you to be better than your friends. You’re going to be surrounded by them on Sunday, probably. How sweet would it be if you could be sure you’ve checked every box possible that might guarantee you a resounding victory this week? Some kick-your-feet-up insights? I’ve got some.
I know my audience. The smoke-break audience. The quick-scan-of-the-phone-on-the-way-to-the-fridge audience. The give-me-as-much-info-as-possible-as-fast-as-possible audience. I’m a man of the people.
And so: the Five Lists of Five series. Think of these as byte-sized, two-minutes-to-yourself lists to scan during your weekend as you foam at the mouth for any competitive fantasy edge. As much relevant analysis as I can fit into, like, 250 words per player.
Keeping it rolling this week with my five best fades/sits for Week 6.

Javonte Williams, RB, Denver Broncos (vs. Los Angeles Chargers)
Don’t buy into his game against a reeling Las Vegas Raiders team last week. Audric Estime might see the field for the first time this year against the Chargers, too.
The Chargers rush defense is improving, and it’s coming off a bye. The Denver backfield isn’t one many of us have any interest in getting excited about. For Week 6, we should avoid it totally.
Devin Singletary, RB, New York Jets (vs. Cincinnati Bengals)
Simple, here. Tyrone Tracy Jr. is better. Brian Daboll, just this afternoon, announced that Singletary’s status is still up in the air for Sunday.
Even if he plays, sit him, and play Tyrone in his place. Still, I think the Giants are going to air it out in this game against the Bengals, even with Nabers (concussion) ruled out. Tracy is the better pass-catching running back.
And he’s healthier. Fade the far-flung feathers out of Devin Singletary, please.
Brian Thomas Jr., WR, Jacksonville Jaguars (vs. Chicago Bears)
The Bears defense will be without two key members of their secondary, so this is a bit of a risky fade. But I’m guessing the Bears are much more willing to dedicate a ton of their defensive coverage to this rookie, who’s absolutely becoming the alpha receiver in this offense. Christian Kirk has re-emerged over the middle and in intermediate sideline routes. The tight ends are only getting looks in the red area.
This just feels like it’s going to be a Gabe Davis game to me in London. I think Thomas Jr. gets net-zeroed by a Bears defense that’s going to be playing out of its shoes, next-man-up mentality albeit. Is this rookie really going to post two 20+ FPT games in a row?
Rico Dowdle, RB, Dallas Cowboys (vs. Detroit Lions)
Dowdle’s 22 touches last week absolutely signal a changing of the guard in the Dallas backfield. None of us expected Ezekiel Elliott to be the feature back there, but Dowdle’s emergence happened a bit faster than I (at least) anticipated.
Careful starting him this week, though. Detroit is coming off a bye, and is a much worse pass defense than a rush defense. They’re fresh off a bye, as healthy as they’ve been since Week 1. Dowdle’s value in this game will come from his touches through the air. I wouldn’t expect him to see 20 carries, here.
Dalton Kincaid, TE, Buffalo Bills (vs. New York Jets)
Khalil Shakir might miss his second game, Keon Coleman is basically as familiar with the Buffalo playbook as anyone who runs mostly sideline verts would be as a rookie. James Cook isn’t looking great for this game, either.
Remember in Week 1, when all of us were thinking Kincaid might absorb 150 targets season-long because the Bills receiver room was empty? And Kincaid threw up an absolute dud?
It’s gonna happen here against the Jets in Week 6, too. Grab a tight end streamer from my list above rather than roll Kincaid out there.
