The Colts are facing the Jaguars in a Week 5 AFC South battle, but they won’t have Jonathan Taylor available. The star running back sustained a “mild” high ankle sprain last week in the Colts’ win over the Steelers.
Without Taylor, Trey Sermon ($5,700) and Tyler Goodson ($5,400) will share work against Jacksonville. My colleague, Alex Hunter, broke down Sermon’s fantasy potential earlier this week.
Since it’s expected to be a timeshare situation, both backs will come with high risk but also good value potential in this matchup with the Jags. The Colts are three-point road underdogs with Sermon at +110 to score a touchdown and Goodson at +230.
I had Taylor as the No. 6 RB in my rankings this wek if he was healthy, but without him, I’d rank Sermon around No. 20 to No. 22, making him a fringe RB2.
After missing this week, Taylor’s next chance to return will be in Week 6, in another divisional road game against the Titans.
