Is a Davante Adams trade really such a sure thing in Las Vegas?

Is a Davante Adams trade really such a sure thing in Las Vegas?

Stop me if you’ve heard this before: There’s drama in Las Vegas with the Raiders. This time, however, it could be even more damning, as Davante Adams has requested a trade out of Las Vegas.

Noted Raiders fan and friend of the show Jason Fitz joined GoJo and Golic to discuss all the consternation involving the Raiders with Mike Golic Jr. and Mike Golic Sr.

The Raiders are not a franchise that is unfamiliar with weirdness, and Fitz says at some point Mark Davis has to look around and wonder if there is a culture issue with this team no matter what city they’re in, no matter where they play. Weird simply follows the Raiders. Just Weird, Baby!

Fitz also points out that leadership comes from the top down and you have to find a calming presence that can figure out how to make this organization run like actual adults are in the building. He says to see Davante on TV shows saying he hasn’t heard from Antonio Pierce is just a level of stupid that he can’t wrap his head around. Now, Fitz isn’t saying Pierce is a stupid man, but that is a stupid decision. When you’re a coach and your star is in rumors and there’s so weird social media like faux pas, you call the player! It is simple to pick up the phone and call one of your biggest stars! That’s at the feet of Pierce.

So Senior wants to know: What does Fitz think of his head coach? Fitz calls upon something Charles Robinson said recently — sometimes former players become coaches and forget that now they have to think in long blocks instead of short blocks. Pierce needs to get out of the mindset that made him a successful player for so many years and instead getting into the mindset of a head coach.

Getting back to Davante, what landing spots make sense for the Pro Bowl receiver? GoJo says the Ravens represent the match with the highest ceiling, while the most likely outcome is a reunion with Aaron Rodgers in New York with the Jets. Fitz, while thinking totally logically, went off the board entirely. He DOESN’T believe the Raiders are actually going to trade Adams. Everyone may think Fitz has lost his mind, but if you’re saying that attempting to get a second-round pick for Adams feels rich you really think you can look at Davis and star Maxx Crosby and tell them not to worry about another lost season because that pick can be packaged to TRY and move up in the draft to MAYBE get a QB. When Fitz stacks up the logic blocks, it still feels as though Adams will stay a Raider for the rest of the year. That being said, if they do move him, Fitz just can’t see Davis moving him to a place in conference where he can win a Super Bowl. Sorry Chiefs and Jets fans!
