How the NFL playoff picture looks coming out of Week 18

The NFL is wrapping up Week 18, and a few teams are standing out in the playoff picture heading into the close of the regular season.

The 2023-2024 NFL regular season is almost wrapped. There is just one week of games left before the playoff picture is solidified. 14 teams will advance to the playoffs, with the other 18 turning their attention to their respective offseasons and the 2024 NFL Draft.

Nine spots were solidified ahead of Week 18, but there were five spots left up for grabs with some important games to be played. The Texans and Colts will settle a playoff berth on Saturday. The AFC South and NFC South titles will be determined Sunday afternoon, and the Bills and Dolphins will determine the AFC West champ on Sunday Night Football.

Let’s take a look at how the playoff picture looks as the NFL works its way through Week 18.

AFC playoff picture

1. Baltimore Ravens, 13-3 — clinched AFC North and No. 1 seed
2. Buffalo Bills, 11-6 — clinched playoff berth
3. Kansas City Chiefs, 10-6 — clinched AFC West
4. Houston Texans, 10-7 — clinched AFC South

5. Cleveland Browns, 11-6 — clinched playoff berth
6. Miami Dolphins, 11-6 — clinched playoff berth
7. Pittsburgh Steelers, 10-7 — clinched playoff berth

8. Jacksonville Jaguars, 9-8 — eliminated
9. Indianapolis Colts, 9-8 — eliminated
10. Cincinnati Bengals, 9-8 — eliminated
11. Denver Broncos, 8-9 — eliminated
12. Las Vegas Raiders, 8-9 — eliminated
13. New York Jets, 7-10 — eliminated
14. Tennessee Titans, 6-11 — eliminated
15. Los Angeles Chargers, 5-12 — eliminated
16. New England Patriots, 4-13 — eliminated

1. San Francisco 49ers, 12-4 — clinched NFC West and No. 1 seed
2. Dallas Cowboys, 12-5 — clinched NFC East
3. Detroit Lions, 12-5 — clinched NFC North
4. Tampa Bay Buccaneers, 9-8 — clinched NFC South

5. Philadelphia Eagles, 11-5 — clinched playoff berth
6. Los Angeles Rams, 9-7 — clinched playoff berth
7. Green Bay Packers, 9-8 — clinched playoff berth
