Fantasy Football Sleepers For Week 4

By: Bryan Armetta

The NFL regular season rolls on with a loaded Week 4 slate. Hope springs eternal for most of the league, but we’re already entering must-win territory for several clubs. Major injuries add an unwelcome dose of chaos to Sunday’s games. Still, there’s some sneaky upside in that regard for fantasy managers. With big-time players sidelined, there’s plenty of potential contributors that can be had at a reasonable cost.

Which under the radar names are worth targeting? Here are three sleepers that could help you win a DraftKings DFS or season-long fantasy matchup.

Fantasy Football Week 4 Sleepers: Best Players to Start

RB Woody Marks, Houston Texans vs. DAL ($4,700)

It’s panic time for the 0-3 Texans, especially on offense. The team is averaging just 18.0 points per game, due in part to a lackluster run game. Offseason pickup David Montgomery ($5,700) has disappointed so far, averaging just 2.8 yards per carry. For a team in desperate need of production, a shake-up could be in order. That could mean more touches for backup Woody Marks going forward. Granted, the second-year pro hasn’t been outstanding by any means (3.0 YPC). Still, he provides more explosiveness and big-play ability out of the backfield.

If there was ever a time where both of Houston’s backs could produce, it’s Sunday. The Cowboys have struggled defensively, allowing the league’s eighth-most fantasy points to opposing running backs. Opponents are gaining a whopping 5.0 yards per rush attempt against Dallas, fourth-most in football. Last season, the ‘Boys also allowed the fourth-most receptions to opposing RBs (85). In an effort to keep pace with Dak Prescott ($6,400), the Texans may need to throw the ball more than usual. Should that occur, Marks might see more snaps compared to Montgomery.

WR Wan’Dale Robinson, Tennessee Titans at BAL ($4,600)

There wasn’t much to write home about for the Titans in Week 3. The offense only scored seven points against the Giants, coming up just short for the second straight game. If there’s a silver lining in Tennessee, it’s Wan’Dale Robinson. Signed from New York this offseason, he notched seven catches for 57 yards and a touchdown (18.7 FPTS) on 11 targets against his old team. The slot specialist doesn’t provide much in terms of yards after the catch. However, he’s a sure-handed safety blanket for quarterback Cam Ward ($4,700).

Sunday presents an opportunity for an even better follow-up performance from Robinson. Granted, Baltimore isn’t a pushover on defense. However, this lethal offense tends to force teams into passing plays just to keep pace. The Ravens have been inconsistent in the secondary, allowing the third-most receptions (44) and eighth-most fantasy points to opposing wide receivers this season. Keep in mind, Tennessee has been in a position to run the ball during Weeks 2 and 3. If this becomes a double-digit deficit at halftime, the game plan might need to change. A boatload of garbage time touches could be headed Robinson’s way this weekend.

TE Isaiah Likely, New York Giants vs. ARI ($4,500)

Speaking of the Giants, it was an ugly day on offense for Big Blue. The team only managed to record 118 passing yards in a sloppy showing at home. That was due in part to the elements, as the game was played in the middle of a massive storm. The weather will be much improved this Sunday, which should give quarterback Jameis Winston ($4,500) a boost. Malik Nabers ($6,000) is the top option in New York’s passing game. However, that’s something the Cardinals are aware of. If anyone else is poised to make an impact, it’s Isaiah Likely.

New York’s newest tight end got off to a torrid start, snagging two touchdowns in Week 1 vs. Dallas. Unfortunately, a knee injury to Jaxson Dart has held back this Giants offense. Still, after three weeks as the starter, Winston should look a bit more comfortable in the pocket. Even if the gunslinger has trouble with his deep passes, there will be opportunities over the middle of the field. The Cardinals are giving up the seventh-most fantasy points to opposing tight ends this season. Given Arizona’s offensive firepower, the Giants will need to throw it more often in this one as well.
