The Presidents Cup will take place this week at the Royal Montreal Golf Club (par 70, 7,279 yards, Bentgrass/POA greens) in Ile Bizard, Quebec. This team formatted match play event features Team USA and Team International squaring off for the 15th time, with each team consisting of 12 golfers. The Presidents Cup will be played over four days, with the first three days being team matches in four-ball and foursome formats, and then the final round on Sunday will consist of 12 singles matches. There is 30 matches overall and each win is worth one point, and once a team reaches 15.5 points, that team will be crowned the winner of the Presidents Cup. Team USA has dominated this event with a 12-1-1 record and they are heavily favorited to win again this year at -250 on the DraftKings Sportsbook.
For DFS purposes, DraftKings is offering Showdown contests for the Presidents Cup. For this format, you roster six players, one of which is your captain, who accrues 1.5x FPTS. You must roster at least one player from each Team USA and Team International, and instead of the standard golf scoring where player’s scores are determined by birdies, pars, bogeys, finishing position, etc, golfers will accrue FPTS in this match play format:

Royal Montreal Golf Club is the oldest golf club in North America, which most recently hosted the Presidents Cup in 2007 and Canadian Open in 2014. This tree-lined venue features small greens, narrow fairways, 71 bunkers and water in play on six holes, including the final five holes of the course. Royal Montreal is a classic second-shot course, where any length of player can succeed. Tim Clark won the 2014 Canadian Open at this par 70 at -17, and during this victory, he finished the event top-five in both SG: Approach and SGP, while ranking 71st in driving distance. As expected with this course being a par 70, Clark also led his field in scoring on the par fours, so efficient par-4 players need to be a priority this week.

Adam Scott ($7,000) – Scott heads to Canada this week in stellar form. In his last six starts worldwide, the Aussie has carded four top-10 finishes, including a pair of runner-up finishes. Scott has shot under par in 18 of his last 24 rounds and he moved himself up 26 spots in the world golf rankings to No. 18 over the course of last season, which is the highest he has ranked since 2019.
While Scott’s career match play record of 37-46-8 isn’t the best, he is far too cheap for his outstanding form and is a must-have value play at this low salary.
Max Homa ($6,600) – Homa must be considered at this cheap price tag, given his tremendous match play record. When Team USA dominated Team International at Quail Hollow for the 2022 Presidents Cup, Homa flourished in his debut at the event, with a 4-0-0 record. The 33-year-old also finished T9th at the 2023 WGC-Dell Match Play and his overall career match play record is a compelling 12-5-1.
Furthermore, his singles record is an impressive 8-4. Homa has struggled to produce high finishes recently, but in his second-to-last start at the BMW Championship in late August, Homa popped for a season-best 6.5 strokes on approach. His great potential as a ball striker clearly remains and if Homa’s putter can come alive in Canada this week, he will easily out produce this low salary. Despite being tied for the seventh-best odds to finish the Presidents Cup at the No. 1 point scorer at +1600 on the DraftKings Sportsbook, Homa is only the 12th most expensive option on DraftKings this week.
