The third time was the charm for many fantasy lineups this week, but it took a truly outstanding week to land the top spot in Week 3’s fantasy football millionaire on DraftKings. This week’s top entry came from bruceleeroygreen33, who blended a few chalk plays with some contrarian options to pile up 240.14 fantasy points onto the “Crowning Moment” in Week 3.
Here’s what the top entry looked like:
The biggest name that needed to be included in top lineups this week was Jauan Jennings ($4,100; 49.5 FPTS) of the 49ers, who hauled in three touchdowns in his team’s loss and finished with 11 catches for 175 yards. His 49.5 fantasy points were 12 fantasy points more than any other option on the board, so he was a “must-own” this week. He stepped into a huge vacancy left due to injuries to WR Deebo Samuel Sr. (calf) and TE George Kittle (hamstring), and came through with the best game of his career. Jennings was such a great value with such a big workload that he was owned in 14.1% of entries, the fourth-highest ownership of any wide receiver in this week’s fantasy football millionaire.
Not only did he score three touchdowns, Jennings added this impressive snag over Rams defensive back Quentin Lake. His monster game was a huge part of bruceleeroygreen33’s “Crowning Moment” in Week 3.
The most-owned player this week was Jennings’ teammate Jordan Mason ($6,200; 10.8 FPTS), who was in 50.4% of entries. Since Jennings was getting all the touchdowns, Mason only finished with 10.8 fantasy points.
Instead of going with Mason in the backfield, the winning entry opted to include three running backs. While the entry didn’t include the top two backs on the board, it did build around Kyren Williams ($6,500; 31.6 FPTS), Aaron Jones ($5,900; 28.8 FPTS) and Zach Charbonnet ($6,000; 25.7 FPTS). All three of those mid-range picks produced huge games with over 100 yards rushing and receiving.
Williams had three scores to lead the Rams comeback and finish as the third-best running back on the board. He was only owned in under 3% of lineups as well, making him a key differentiator as he carried the workload for the Rams with all their injuries at receiver. Williams also had one of the most memorable “Crowning Moments” of the day when he front-flipped into the end zone over 49ers’ linebacker Fred Warner.
Not all the focus of the winning entry was in that late game, though. Another key contributor to the top entry was Diontae Johnson ($4,900; 29.2 FPTS), who was the second-highest scoring receiver on the main slate after getting a huge boost from the Panthers benching QB Bryce Young and going with productive veteran Andy Dalton ($4,800; 27.56 FPTS).
The entry from bruceleeroygreen33 also included a powerful stack from the Vikings’ big win over the Texans. Sam Darnold ($5,500; 23.24 FPTS) was a top-10 QB for a third straight week while throwing four touchdown passes, including a score to Aaron Jones and one to Justin Jefferson ($8,600; 20.1 FPTS), which each earned this entry double points based on the correlation of including multiple Minnesota scorers.
Tight end continues to be tough position to figure out this season with low outputs across the board. Dallas Goedert ($4,600; 30 FPTS) was the big exception on Sunday. He finished with 30 fantasy points when only one other tight end reached more than 16.
Goedert had to step up after DeVonta Smith ($6,900; 14.9 FPTS) left with an injury (Click here for the latest). With A.J. Brown already out, Jalen Hurts ($7,300; 15.9 FPTS) targeted Goedert 11 times, and the tight end finished with 10 catches for 170 yards, a new Eagles record at tight end. He was significantly better than the rest of the options at the position and was a key part of bruceleeroygreen33’s “Crowning Moment.”
