The Bills and Cardinals had one of the highest game totals of the early games in Week 1, and the offenses lived up to the hype, delivering plenty of fantasy goodness and exciting highlights.
The Cardinals came in as the underdog, but they jumped out to an early lead 10-0 lead after a touchdown pass from Kyler Murray ($6,400; 15.18 FPTS) to Michael Wilson ($4,300; 7.5 FPTS) and a field goal early in the second quarter.
James Conner ($6,200; 19.3 FPTS) added a second-quarter touchdown as well, as the Cardinals opened up a 17-3 lead. Josh Allen ($8,000; 32.18 FPTS) would not let his team lose at home in Week 1, though, answering back with a rushing touchdown just before halftime.
In the third quarter, Allen threw two touchdown passes, each of 11 yards. The first one went to Mack Hollins ($3,000; 10.5 FPTS) and the second went to a somersaulting Khalil Shakir ($5,100; 13.2 FPTS) in the highlight below, which gave the Bills a 24-17 lead.
Allen seemed to ice the win with his second rushing touchdown of the day, but the Cardinals got a huge play from DeeJay Dallas ($4,000; 6 FPTS), who became the first player to return a new-format kickoff for a touchdown.
In the end, though, Allen’s monster game was too much for the Cardinals, and the Bills rallied to win 34-28. Allen had more fantasy points than any other QB this week through the early window, totaling over 30 fantasy points with two rushing scores, two passing scores, 232 passing yards and 39 rushing yards.
Coming into the week, DKNetwork’s Stan Son highlighted Allen as his stud QB of the week in his Targets and Values, saying that “Allen possesses one of the best floor/ceiling combos.” Allen delivered on that ceiling on Sunday as he led his team to a huge comeback win.
Next week, Allen leads the Bills into Miami to face the Dolphins on Thursday Night Football, while the Cardinals will look to get their first win as they come home to host the Rams in a divisional game.
