WNBA Picks: Basketball Best Bets, Predictions, Odds on DraftKings Sportsbook for September 6

The WNBA has a four-game slate set for Friday, which provides many intriguing possibilities on  DraftKings Sportsbook.

There are three games tipping off simulateously, ending with the LA Sparks facing the Chicago Sky — a matchup involving two of the WNBA’s top rookies, Angel Reese and Rickea Jackson.

The initial action includes the WNBA’s hottest teams since the Olympic break, the Minnesota Lynx and Indiana Fever. Caitlin Clark versus Napheesa Collier should be a fun one.

A battle of two title contenders, the Las Vegas Aces and Connecticut Sun, is also set to unfold. A’ja Wilson has been incredible this season, but her team needs to get on track after going just 5-4 since returning from the break.

Facing the Atlanta Dream, the Dallas Wings must take of business to maintain a viable path to the postseason. Both teams are vying for the eighth seed in the playoff picture and currently trail the Sky.

Let’s look below at my top bets for Friday’s WNBA betting card and an analysis based on recent trends and player strength.

Minnesota Lynx vs. Indiana Fever

Caitiln Clark Over 20.5 Points

The Lynx and Fever are both 7-1 since returning from the Olympic break, meaning this is a matchup featuring the two hottest teams in the WNBA. The Lynx are three-point favorites on DraftKings Sportsbook. Caitlin Clark’s over/under for scoring is set at 20.5 points, with -110 odds she hits the over.

While Minnesota has an elite defense, betting on Clark’s impressive scoring run to continue is still intriguing. She’s averaging 24.5 points per game since the break, while shooting 47.8% from the floor, 38.8% from beyond the arc, and 92.5% on free throws. With an average of 16.8 field goal attempts per game during this span, she’s likely going to keep putting up enough shots to score a high volume of points.

Las Vegas Aces vs. Connecticut Sun

Aces -1.5 (-110)

It’s been a season riddled with ups and downs for the Aces despite A’ja Wilson’s historic MVP-worthy efforts. Despite the Aces’ underwhelming defense, they are 1.5-point favorites against the Sun on DraftKings Sportsbook. Connecticut has defended at an elite level this season, but has struggled offensively. With Wilson being such a dominant offensive threat, perhaps Las Vegas can power through a tough defensive team and capitalize on the Sun’s lack of offensive prowess .

With the Aces struggling to find consistency, their WNBA title odds have slipped. According to DraftKings Sportsbook, the Aces are +340 to win the championship. The DraftKings research team indicates the last time the Aces’ title odds were worse was on May 3, 2022, when they were +350. They are running out of time to turn it around. Will it start on Friday?

Dallas Wings vs. Atlanta Dream

Dream -3 (-108)

The Wings have produced an explosive offense since Satou Sabally returned to the lineup in August. They’ve averaged 89.4 points per game during this span, but they’ve struggled to produce on the road, averaging 72.5 points in two losses during this span. With Atlanta looking to win at home to maintain postseason contention viability, covering the three-point spread on DraftKings Sportsbook is a solid option. Given how bad Dallas has been defensively, it tends to get ugly when things aren’t going well offensively.

LA Sparks vs. Chicago Sky

Angel Reese Under 14.5 Rebounds

Having to haul in 15 rebounds to hit the over is a high bar set for any player. Angel Reese has done it plenty of times this season, but there’s some context to consider. She’s averaged only 8.5 rebounds against the Sparks in two matchups despite pulling down 4.0 offensive rebounds per game. This seems like a favorable opportunity to consider taking the under at +100 on DraftKings Sportsbook.

Los Angeles does deploy Dearica Hamby out on the perimeter often throughout games, making it challenging for the opposing frontcourt to focus on gaining early rebounding positioning. A poor shooting night by the Sparks would put this play in jeaopardy, but it’s worth consideration.
