On Monday’s edition of GoJo and Golic, Kyren Williams caught up with the guys to discuss what it’s like playing with Matthew Stafford and what fantasy football owners can expect from him this season.
Los Angeles Rams running back Kyren Williams played a crucial role in driving the Rams’ offense last season. He racked up 1,144 yards and 12 touchdowns on 228 carries while adding 32 receptions for 206 yards and three more scores in over 12 games. As the Rams prepare to kick off the 2024 season against the Detroit Lions, they enter the matchup as 3.5-point underdogs at DraftKings Sportsbook.
Mike Golic Jr. asked Williams about the key to the Rams’ offensive surge in the second half of the season. Williams emphasized that the success came from everyone on the offense putting the team first. He added that the mindset, both last year and heading into this season, is all about playing as one, staying connected, and having fun—factors he believes will give them an edge over their opponents this year.
The conversation then shifted to Mike Golic Jr. asking Williams what it’s like to be on the field with quarterback Matthew Stafford and what sets him apart from other quarterbacks. Williams praised Stafford’s deep understanding of the game, noting how he can throw the ball from different arm angles and consistently throw receivers open.
Williams added that, given his in-depth knowledge of the game, Stafford is like an extension of the coaching staff on the field. Matthew Stafford is +3000 odds to win NFL MVP at DraftKings Sportsbook.
Beyond his value to the Rams, Williams also holds significant value for NFL fans who play fantasy football. The crew asked him how he’s perceived by fans in the fantasy football world, especially after being a key asset to many teams last season. Williams expressed his excitement about continuing to help fantasy players win their leagues, saying he’s eager to contribute to their success weekly.
The guys playfully gave Williams the floor to deliver a “State of the Union” address to his fantasy football team owners. He reassured them they should know what to expect this season if they picked him off waivers last year, hinting at another strong showing in fantasy production this season. With Williams now also named the Rams’ punt returner for 2024, his fantasy value is set to rise even more as he looks to build on last year’s success leading the Rams’ backfield.
